Online Storage VS External Hard Disk (advantages and disadvantages)

So your blaming Seagate for your clumsiness? Do you also blame Honda when you hit a pole? My Seagate just sits on my desk next to my cordless phone.I pick it up to dust my desk and lay it back down. I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen. Does it mean Apple is too blame?

I'm sticking to External HDDs for Backups and Recovery since it's easier to access and the speed in backing up the files is faster too.

of course i blame them (even if it is not me that make it fall) ; it is supposed to be at least a bit resistant , 30cm is not too high. i saw some other brands that fell from higher without any issue..

when you pay 100 euros for a HDD you expect it to be able to suffer a small impact.

when you are victim of an accident with your car and the airbag failed to protect you, who you blame? you or the airbag...

If something is extremely important I burn it on a DVD. Nothing in m ypc cannot be replaced. Precious moments in time and pictures are burned on DVD's. Other then that if my external HDD fails I will be upset. Good planning is the key to preserving.

Should your HDD have survived a small fall? Sure but Seagate still is not blame for your clumsiness.

Online Storages are pretty much of a joke since getting more space requires payments unlike an External HDD, You're already getting a ton of space for a reasonable price.

Just read my analysis over 5 years. I can buy a new external HDD every year at a cheaper cost then online storage. And have more space.

There are other external HDD's built specially for taking knocks and rough handling, Lacie Rugged for example. If you regularly take your drive out and it's likely to get knocked about, then you should invest in something like that.
