Some Gmail tips
Do you only use gmail via your browser? Don't use an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook at all? You have no need for IMAP or POP? If you answered yes to all of these you may want to disable IMAP/POP access in your gmail. Sign in to your Gmail. After log-in on the top right corner there will be a Gear symbol. Click on it and go to Mail settings. Go to the Forwarding POP/IMAP tab. You can Enable/Disable POP or IMAP. Be sure to hit the Save Changes button for your changes to take effect!

Gmail has a nifty feature that lets you see who accessed your e-mail at what time and via what protocol (HTTP, pop, imap, ect). To get to this, sign in to your gmail and after signing in, scroll down to the bottom of the page. Just above the "©2011 Google" there will be a line saying "Last account activity:" and it will give you a time and IP. At the end of this line there is a link titled Details. Hitting will open a pop-up providing a bunch of information about your gmail access records.
