PSN Service Outage
Quote:We’re aware certain functions of PlayStation Network are down. We will report back here as soon as we can with more information. We will also provide updates when we can via our @PlayStationEU twitter feed. Stay updated via Forums: PSN Outage today Thursday 21st April 2011 I don't think this was a planned maintenance.

RE: Update on PSN Service Outages
It might be Anonymous again.
Typing, IMO, is a great sport and exercise without normal hazards (people rarely jam their fingers typing, even when angry). If you are feeling brave, rocking in a desk chair is a bit more risky but burns more fat. (Note: Punching your computer is useful for building muscles, but the costs can add up.) |

Quote:Update from the EU Blog: I got disconnected last night, so in the mean time I was playing the Blacks Ops campaign which I had no idea what I was doing. I only bought that game for Zombies. If PSN is out for two days, then I might be able to complete other games too.

Hey, you could join me on Battlefield Play4Free. I.e. us cheap gamers.
You should see all the jeeps crashing and helicopters diving into the water and tanks getting stuck. It's a riot.

RE: Update on PSN Service Outages
I doubt anon is behind this, it would go against their principles. They have also said they wouldn't attack gamers.

They have been DDoSing Sony servers, and that has affected the PSN. Typing, IMO, is a great sport and exercise without normal hazards (people rarely jam their fingers typing, even when angry). RE: Update on PSN Service Outages
They made a statement that they would only concentrate on servers that wouldn't affect the PSN.
Didn't they give up on sony? i read a transcript from an IRC channel that their ddos power wasn't nearly enough to bring them down. The geohot case is over anyway. besides, it would take a lot more then simple traffic overload to bring the service down for two days. But what do i know. That's the great thing about the internet, people who don't know anything, acting like they know everything (that was primarily targeted at myself )

Well, I've been reading news articles that have mentioned how Anonymous's DDoSing have made the network unstable. Thousands of computers could probably do that. But that was in the past, so they may have stopped. Typing, IMO, is a great sport and exercise without normal hazards (people rarely jam their fingers typing, even when angry).
