I installed 360TSE on Win 10 64 in Shadow Defender. Everything was fine...install/scan/browsing/realtime/system response, etc...

I am thinking of trying it. Few queries for 360TSE users especially on Win 10 64.
1. Did you get any FPs especially Microsoft/Windows/System files?
2. Do you find it FPs prone i.e not acceptable/many/system files FPs?
3. Settings - Virus Scan - "Do not upload unknown files" - Is this option for ondemand only or realtime too?
4. Rightclick tray icon - Download manager - Settings - "Do not upload after p2p upgrade" - I am on limited bandwidth... should I check this option?

1. Yes, two. But I do not have the .log saved, sorry :( Since then, next to no FP.
2. No.
3. On demand to my finding, it asks for uploading unknown files when not checked.
4. It shares your bandwith as well as Windows 10 does it (for updates) if not deactivated. Yes, you should deactivate it.

Qihoo 360 TSE has done a great job on both Win 10 x64 machines I employ, with no noticeable slowdown / FP.

Hello yesnoo, according to their name, they were. But they might have got infected, I've scanned a Malware Pack (which I had to extract) before.
It also seems not to like the USB tool from SoftMaker Office Professional 2016.

Those 3 detections were next to a reinstall of Win 10. Since then, Qihoo 360 TSE has been quiet, unless I try out some of those Malware Packs here (with real detections).

I've enabled all engines, so Avira and BD, too.

Everything seems fine with 360TSE.

My only concern is FPs. I am confused as to install or not on my family shared system of average users?

Well I never have FP with system files when using 360 on windows 7. Other type of files yes. But I saw it in action before (real time). Pretty damn impressive. I plugged in a infected flash drive. Scan came out clean. Upon opening it, it scream suspicious activity and told me to run in sandbox or quarantine it. I choose quarantine.

Salutations,

Can 360 stop ransom-ware? And what new in this area with 360?

Kind regards,
The latest version has "data protection". Qihoo explanation of DP is protects against ransomware encryption.

But If I remember correctly DP has only enable/disable option & no other settings. So its not clear if it protects by default or issues HIPS like popups & also not clear if by default my documents/my pics/my videos folder on system drive are protected or any/all data/location are protected?

They really need to start forum for english version 360TS/TSE. It will help in product development & info on the product features, etc...

You could suggest that to Qihoo :)

As long as you are not using any crack/keygens, should not be a problem.

I don't know that answer. But what I know is couple it with Comodo Firewall (disable hips but enable auto sandbox) and it will stop ransomware. Again I do not know whether it will work on Window 1o or not. I am still on Windows 7 with no intention to upgrade.

Now testing 360TSE with Bd/Avira enabled in Shadow Defender on Win 10 64.
Its running light. Memory of all the 3 processes app 150MB.
Tested with AMTSO... not detected PUP.

I noticed that 360 extension works better with IE than Chrome.
IE - AMTSO phishing link - 360 blocks & gives options "Ignore & Continue" & "Close".
Chrome - "Close" option is not there.

IE - AMTSO cloudcar link - 360 extension gave malicious link blocked window.
Chrome - It was downloaded & realtime detected. Another try extension blocked same as IE.

Quick/Full scan didn't find any FPs here... thats good.

360 extension works fine on my Vivaldi TP4 standalone install.

Actually I was testing 360 with Bd only but accidently clicked Avira on the main GUI & then no way to cancel Avira download or set Avira disabled. So I disconnected net & then was able to set Avira disabled.
But after sometime I noticed Avira was enabled & the databases were installed.
So guess once you click Bd/Avira or accidently click... no way turning back i.e no matter what they get installed. You can uninstall later or may be once you click or accidently click... system restart could help?... net disconnected didn't helped as on net connection Avira was installed even though I had disabled it as mentioned above.

Update on my previous post as I see no edit tab on the post.

Scanned my data partition & 360 detected 1. Its a MSOffice file zip packed with double extention (.xls.tg). Its my bro's office file. Is it safe to check this file with VT?
Comodo AV is not detecting this file.

Sounds great - except the Avira issue.

I can deactivate Avira just by switching it to off (WiFi is on, as it downloads updates @ the moment)? Maybe just reinstall Qihoo 360 TS(E)?
My programme version is still 7.2.0.1018 though, doesn't it auto-update?

According to VT privacy statement, upload should be safe.

Privatsphäre - VirusTotal

EDIT: Probably a packed file - be careful.

TG File Extension - Open .TG Files

About Avira I meant... when the first time you install 360... Avira/Bd is not installed... so if you click on the main GUI & enable them... then installation starts & no way to stop the installation or disable Avira... I disconnected net... disabled Avira... but after sometime when I checked the GUI... Avira was enabled & fully updated... this was my experience.
When Avira installation started... no way to stop the installation... & you cannot disable Avira coz on clicking Avira icon it shows installing & updating...

I downloaded latest version.
Downloaded Bd offline signs... 7th Sep 2015
After installing & activating Bd signs... Bd signs were updated to 9th Sep 2015 as per "check for updates".
Avira that got installed was also up-to-date i.e 9th Sep 2015 as per "check for updates".

Interesting blog by 360 team on 360 online shopping protection---
Buy safe with Online Shopping Protection - 360 Total Security Blog
360 Total Security creates a safe shopping environment for you. Online Shopping Protection keeps your browser secured by preventing malware from redirecting you to a dangerous site; only programs on the white list are allowed to be running within your shopping time. Protection level is also risen, thus neither keyloggers can record your keyboard, nor phishing sites can deceive your banking information.

As you enjoy shopping online, for example on sites like Amazon, eBay or Yahoo Auction, 360 Total Security automatically activates Online Shopping Protection; then a pop-up is prompted to indicate that you are now under Online Shopping Mode.

Once activated, Online Shopping Protection switches gear to the highest security posture, which hardens your browser’s protection and checks for suspicious programs running in the background of your PC. When potential risk is detected, an alert is prompted to prevent you from revealing any personal information.

I wonder how effective is "keyloggers cant record your keyboard"?

360 "Data Protection" blog---
Download Free 360 Total Security
Ransomware programs, such as TorrentLocker and CTB-Locker, hijack highly valuable documents, including pictures, PDFs and Microsoft Office documents, by encrypting these documents with a complex algorithm, rendering them permanently and irreversibly locked without the decryption key. The attacker demands a ransom if we want to get the key to unlock our files, with the threat of never recovering them unless we pay before a deadline.

360 Total Security now offers you protection against hijacking attacks. Once activated, Data Hijacking Protection will only allow known and trusted applications to access these documents.

I've not activated the Qihoo 360 TSE extension for Chrome I must admit... I use LastPass. Although I keep Chrome (and the OS) updated, always incognito + AdBlock Plus / WOT activated. I do not use this PC here (scanning Malware) for online banking, I use my Laptop which is not used for Malware testing.
But: I scanned about 10.000 malicious files this month (VirusTotal, MalwareTips files etc.), and Emsisoft found only this (see attachment).
Trend Micro Rescue disk found nothing more. Great Qihoo 360 TSE!!!
As for ransomware, I hope HitmanPro.Alert will stop them as advertised :)
