Help! I've tried all 5 steps listed on your site to remove the Ads by Record Page virus and it still persists. I noticed however that removing the virus from the programs list in Control Panel has been fruitless and although I was able to download and save Revo Uninstaller, I was unable to open it and so it never ran.

  • All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
  • If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
  • I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
  • Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  • Please attach all report using

  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay for the repair.

That being told, if any evidence of illegal OS, software, cracks/keygens or any other will be revealed, any further assistance will be suspended. If you are aware that there is this kind of stuff on your machine, remove it before proceeding!
The same applies to any use of P2P software: uTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze, Kazaa, Ares... We don't provide any help for P2P, except for their removal. All P2P software has to be uninstalled or at least fully disabled before proceeding!

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.


  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

It has been more than three days since you sent your last message. I noted that the thread would have been closed if I took longer to respond, however I had a number of things to attend to but should be around to be able to sort this out now. I apologize for the delay in my response. Is it possible to resume this thread?

I am here! Attached are the files you requested from the FarBar Recovery Scan. Kindly note that I had already run this tool previously based on instructions I had received through a friend butthe results were unsuccessful. So the FRST.txt file was run again today while the Addition.txt was run on August 3rd.

Unfortunately, I cannot access the administrator accounts. I have had some issues in the past where my user profiles with administrative privileges had stopped working. Specifically, I see the following prompt: "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." So I have had to create new profiles over time. This has happened twice with the most recent one occurring last year, thus I have had to use the Guest profile to be able to use my computer. It still allows me to carry out some higher level actions by prompting me to enter the password I used from the administrator profiles. But this does not always work, depending on the level of task I am trying to accomplish.

I do hope you can still help...

I understand.

Does that mean however that it is not possible to solve this problem from the Guest Account at all?

In either case, could you provide suggestions for alternative avenues that I could try or may have to resort to? Or is it that that I have to replace my laptop??

No. I have 2 with administrator privileges and both are inaccessible and give the same prompt I mentioned before.

My boyfriend tells me he has. However, he isn't here right now and I am not sure how to. But am willing to learn.

Hmm. What is the Check Disk? Should that prompt have started some process? As I am not seeing anything to suggest that it has.
