Same issue here; happens in Firefox and Opera both on a Win7-64 computer. Malwarebytes pops up a message about usg.spiessummarizing.com with the current page url for every page that opens. I've run TDSS, RKill, Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, ADWareCleaner, SuperAntiSpyware, Malware Fighter, Spybot S&D, Avast and more, and everything in Safe Mode that will load there. ADWareCleaner showed a couple of registry entries, but I'm a bit leery about those as I had to do a system restore after one sweep.

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:
  • At the top of your post, please click on the "Watch thread" button and make sure to check Watch this thread...and receive email notifications. This will send an email to you as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing me to solve your problem faster.
  • Please do not install any new software during the cleaning process other than the tools I provide for you. This can hinder the cleaning process. Please do not perform System Restore or any other restore.
  • Instructions I give to you are very simple and made for complete beginner to follow. That's why you need to read through my instructions carefully and completely before executing them.
  • Please do not run any tools other than the ones I ask you to, when I ask you to. Some of these tools can be very dangerous if used improperly. Also, if you use a tool that I have not requested you use, it can cause false positives, thereby delaying the complete cleaning of your machine.
  • All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
  • If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
  • I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
  • Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  • Please attach all report using
    fjqb1h.png
button below. Doing this, you make it easier for me to analyze and fix your problem.

  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay for the repair.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

I've only tried Opera and Firefox, and it occurs in both. Today I got one of those fake BSOD warnings in Opera, which was the first symptom I noticed about 2-3 weeks ago. I also have IE and Chrome, but almost never open them, can't remember the last time I did. Also, last night I turned off Malwarebytes bad website warning, as the outgoing usg.spiessummarizing.com warning was popping up every few seconds, sometimes several times on the same page click.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on

    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Wow, that video opened in the reply. Quite boring; I doubt I've watched more than 20 seconds of it, months ago.

When I opened Opera, same two old webpages opened tabs again, and then a new tab for Spyhunter software opened up as well. When I loaded this page, the usg.spiessummarizing.com warning from Malwarebits popped up once again.

Just opened Firefox, that usg.spiessummarizing warning was bouncing like a jack-in-the-box for my homepage and this one. However, I repeated these same steps (basically what Opera did first after the reboot) in Chrome, and no usg. warning from Malwarebytes has come up. I'm finishing this message in Firefox, and it's been quiet since the initial popups .... uh oh, and just got a pop-up message about a java error on this page, grayed it out; dark gray with red center banner with message. Finishing this once it disappeared.

Just a thought, and probably irrelevant, but both Firefox and Opera have been my default browser, the latter for about a year, while Chrome never has been. Could that have any impact on the lack of malwarebytes notifications when I open pages here in Chrome? In other words, something persisting in a default profile somewhere?

One problem fixed, and such a dumb one, hard to imagine nobody thought of this before. Those tabs that kept opening? I changed the Opera setting from picking up where I left off when I closed the browser, to simply open the start page. I've since opened and closed the browser a couple of times, including after a reboot, and that seems to have cleared that particular issue. What's strange is that I've closed the browser probably hundreds of times since, with different tabs open, and yet after rebooting somehow the program remembered these. I'll keep my fingers crossed that that's resolved; there's still that spiessummarizing malware in two of my browsers. I haven't seen the popup warning with either Chrome or IE64
