Microsoft’s launch of Windows 10 will likely take place in late July, according to AMD. During AMD’s latest earnings call last week, president and CEO Lisa Su revealed the launch timing for Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system. Answering a question on inventory plans, Su said "with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up."

Microsoft previously revealed that it’s planning to launch Windows 10 "this summer" in 190 countries and 111 languages, but the company didn’t provide a firm date for the debut. While AMD’s revelation could be inaccurate, the company is well informed of Microsoft’s plans and will be readying hardware for the launch phase. Windows 10 is currently in the late stages of technical preview, and Microsoft is expected to further detail its launch plans at Build later this month. Microsoft will also likely name its Project Spartan browser at Build, the successor to Internet Explorer.
