Hello,

I have AMD system. Problem with AMD is AMD/ATI does not digitally sign many of the Catalyst Control Center modules. Plus the modules are updated by AMD often.

COMODO's cloud is getting better since version 8; the Submit Files was finally fixed. Therefore, many of the modules are now recognized as "Trusted." Although there are still some that are unrecognized and treated as "Untrusted."

If a Rating Scan is not run immediately upon installation (or before activating Proactive Security/HIPS Safe Mode) and the unsigned AMD modules are not transferred to Trusted Files, then HIPS will alert and Behavior Blocker will auto-sandbox them.

Even if the auto-sandbox is set to run fully virtualized, there are serious problems. If the auto-sandbox is set to run any Unrecognized files as "Untrusted," then you should just forget it... I ended up with unbootable (Black Screen) system.

Hello Umbra Polaris,

I uninstalled COMODO because of all the problems...;)

Emsisoft/Shadow Defender now. Very good. Simple. Responsive. Perfect for testing.

Thanks,

That's a downside where the autosandbox feature makes some users trouble enough especially graphics driver that claims to cause unbootable to their computer/messed already.

So likely a lengthy of learning mode is needed to ensure everything are trusted.

Hello jamescv7,

600 page manual makes no mention that user should:

Not switch from default configuration (Internet Security - which is HIPS off) before running Rating Scan and moving "Unknown" files to "Trusted" files to prevent HIPS from detecting them as Unrecognized and then Behavior Blocker will auto-sandbox.

Alternatively, user can switch HIPS to Training Mode and then run Rating Scan.

Upon installation, if user immediately switches to Proactive Security configuration it turns on HIPS and it detects all Unknown files and adds them to Unrecognized File list. If any are running, or user attempts to run any, then Behavior Blocker auto-sandboxes them...it creates a bloody mess.

If novice does not know this he thinks COMODO is not compatible with his system. In other words, that it is garbage and then uninstalls it, never to return.

COMODO is not garbage. It is solid, respectable. Plus, it is great value - free!
