Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PS4 Beta Update Brings New Improvements Today

Additional fixes are coming besides Uplink and Stronghold
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to receive a brand-new update later today, Friday, August 21, at around 10am PST, so that developer Treyarch can deliver some fresh tweaks to the ongoing multiplayer test, not to mention the already confirmed new map in the form of Stronghold and a new mode in the form of Uplink.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to launch this November, but until then, developer Treyarch and publisher Activision want to give the game's multiplayer infrastructure a test run. As such, a special beta is currently underway on the PS4 platform this week and is scheduled to launch on PC and Xbox One next week.

A big patch is coming today with new features
A few updates and tweaks have already been made to the test version of the game and another big patch is set to arrive later today, August 21, at around 10am PST. According to the Twitter post of Treyarch Design Director David Vonderhaar, the new update brings forth a new map, in the form of Stronghold, as well as a new mode in the form of the popular Uplink.

Last but not least, the actual level cap in the multiplayer beta for Black Ops 3 is getting a slight increase, from the current 28 to a heftier 34. According to Vonderhaar, less than 10% of the players enrolled in the PS4 beta have reached the current cap, but Treyarch wants to ensure that they, alongside the rest of the community, have enough levels to go through until the actual beta concludes at the end of the weekend.

Already a few more changes have been made to the game's actual dedicated servers in order to improve the matchmaking system. The game's version is currently 2.8.21.2 and quite a bit of tuning has also been implemented by the studio.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's PS4 beta ends on August 23. The PC and Xbox One versions of the test phase are set to begin next week, on August 26, worldwide.

The actual game is going to debut across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 3, around the world.
