How can I utilise 2 unused WD HDD for external storage?

I currently own 2 working Western Digital Hard-disk drives, from I know:
- Bought over 5 years ago
- Operational / Good condition
- Different capacities: 320GB and 500GB at 7200 RPM
- 3.5-inch desktop HDD
- External power sources required
- No external enclosures
- Previously used inside an older P4 computer (2004-2007)

WD3200JB (WD Caviar SE) = 320GB Capacity (March 2006)
WD5000AAKS (WD Caviar SE16) = 500GB Capacity (November 2007)

Questions
If I were to buy external enclosures, would I have to buy 2 enclosures, or possible to mix and match into one?
How would I go about making them Network-Attached, or is this not recommended?

What are your suggestions and recommendations? And if other, please mention them. :)

Well if you don't want external enclosures you can buy PATA/SATA/IDE to USB adapters, it shouldn't be much money. But naked hard drive can be easily shocked with all sorts of movement so it's not a final solution. Sata Docking Stations can be used also, but I never used or seen one in live.
You can create NAS but dunno their RPM and if you're gonna to use them in RAID.
