I'm normally fairly competent in removing adware, but this one has me baffled. I guess I haven't evolved my techniques fast enough. Any assistance you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Silver.

Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:
  • At the top of your post, please click on the "Watch thread" button and make sure to check Watch this thread...and receive email notifications. This will send an email to you as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing me to solve your problem faster.
  • Please do not install any new software during the cleaning process other than the tools I provide for you. This can hinder the cleaning process. Please do not perform System Restore or any other restore.
  • Instructions I give to you are very simple and made for complete beginner to follow. That's why you need to read through my instructions carefully and completely before executing them.
  • Please do not run any tools other than the ones I ask you to, when I ask you to. Some of these tools can be very dangerous if used improperly. Also, if you use a tool that I have not requested you use, it can cause false positives, thereby delaying the complete cleaning of your machine.
  • All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
  • If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
  • I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
  • Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  • Please attach all report using
    fjqb1h.png
button below. Doing this, you make it easier for me to analyze and fix your problem.

  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay for the repair.

I'm at work at the moment, I'll re-run Farbar and post the results when I get home. I haven't done any testing yet, wasn't sure if we were done or not. Didn't want to risk exacerbating a not quite complete cleanup. Outgoing alerts seems to have quit, though.

Posting this from Opera on my computer, everything seems normal at the moment, this is a good sign. Just started the origin client, and as soon as I did, Malwarebytes started blocking outgoing traffic to "Domain, 205.185.208.26, istatic.eshopcomp.com, 56371, Outbound, C:\Program Files(x86)\Origin\Origin.exe". Three outbound attempts to two different ports (56371 and 56391), then they stopped. The client doesn't currently have any adds in it, and I haven't checked functionality within the Origin client browser. Is this the route Lasuperba used to get into my system? Should I inform Origin? Interesting behavior. For now I've disable origin starting with a reboot. Still makes me very nervous.
Both Opera and Chrome seem to be clean and free from popup adds.

Done. Fixlog.txt attached. Origin client browser still eliciting blocks from Malwarebytes, same location, different ports. Also noticed that attempting to use links in the origin browser occasionally elicit popups and attempted redirects. Malwarebytes frequency of blocks increase and only while using the Origin game browser. Both opera and chrome appear to be behaving.

Left origin running with it's browser open during this scan. Origin browser is definitely still infected/hijacked. Adds show www.dw57.com in the title bar.

Sorry for the delay, real life called and insisted I pick up. ;)

As instructed....

No testing really, just using Opera to visit here. No popups noted in Opera. Origin has been stopped from starting with boot, will await your direction on whether to test it or not.

So, both Opera and Chrome seem to be clean. I get no popups or redirects when using either of those browsers. Unfortunately, when origin opens, malwarebytes shows the alerts we've seen. Here's a screenshot of what the browser does when I try to navigate within the store...

Uninstall and clean out Origin?

Origin is gone. I have a freshly downloaded copy from the EA website, is there anything you would like done before I try to reinstall?

So, went ahead and reinstalled Origin game client (needed my Inquisition fix). Been clicking around in it for 30 minutes or so, and haven't seen any Malwarebytes alerts or popups in the client. I think you might have got it. I have not had any issues with either Opera or Chrome, I even had a quick look at Edge (shiver), and had no issues with redirects or popups. Dare I say "problem solved"?
