I am currently posting this message using Hirens because I can't boot to any modes. I ran FRST also using Hirens but if this is not useful let me know what boot usb to make and I will re-do the FRST log. However, I don't live in the same house as the infected computer and will have to drive back and forth to my clean computer in my apartment. If it's not possible to minimize the steps that's fine.

Hi,

Before we begin, I want you to have this in mind:
  • At the top of your post, please click on the "Watch thread" button and make sure to check Watch this thread...and receive email notifications. This will send an email to you as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing me to solve your problem faster.
  • Please do not install any new software during the cleaning process other than the tools I provide for you. This can hinder the cleaning process. Please do not perform System Restore or any other restore.
  • Instructions I give to you are very simple and made for complete beginner to follow. That's why you need to read through my instructions carefully and completely before executing them.
  • Please do not run any tools other than the ones I ask you to, when I ask you to. Some of these tools can be very dangerous if used improperly. Also, if you use a tool that I have not requested you use, it can cause false positives, thereby delaying the complete cleaning of your machine.
  • All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
  • If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
  • I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
  • Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  • Please attach all report using
    fjqb1h.png
button below. Doing this, you make it easier for me to analyze and fix your problem.

Download attached fixlist.txt and save it to your USB flashdrive as fixlist.txt

>> Boot into Recovery Environment

Start FRST in a similar manner to when you ran a scan earlier, but this time when it opens ....
  • Press the Fix button once and wait.
  • FRST will process fixlist.txt
  • When finished, it will produce a log fixlog.txt on your USB flashdrive.

>> Exit out of Recovery Environment and post me the log please.

Try to boot Windows normally...

Thanks for your help but the virus is still there when I boot normally. It takes over within seconds after logon. I'm not sure if I did everything correctly. I attached another frst log I just made. I didn't do anything other than restart to Windows, see it was the same, and then reboot into Hirens and run FRST again.

Edit: I hadn't been running FRST from a usb drive, I'd been running it from Hirens desktop because that's what I thought was meant by "recovery environment". I downloaded it again to a USB drive this time and ran it, I have attached the log.

I don't know what this "report" is supposed to be and when the virus takes over the screen, sometimes if it moves slow I see it's name in the taskbar and it's "police report". LOL I'm grasping at straws I know, sorry I won't say anymore.

The last frst is the last one I ran, from the usb drive rather than from Hirens desktop. The fixlog is from before that, after I ran the second fix.

Hi again, about this entry:
2014-06-21 06:16 - 2014-06-21 06:16 - 00000000 ___HD () C:\Users\Public\Documents\Report

So within Hirens I navigated to this (hirens changes drive letter):
D:\Users\Public\Documents\Report

And I found these two things, an index.html file and a pic.jpg. I'm not attaching because I don't know if they are dangerous, but I did look at the picture and it is the "department of justice" image the virus puts on my screen.

The virus is still there but there are some differences. The department of justice image was never able to fully load so the screen was white (usually it's white for a few seconds then the image takes over). This time a window came up that said Microsoft Windows at the top with the message "this application is not responding" with the options of wait or cancel. I couldn't choose any options since the screen was frozen, eventually the whole screen turned black with just a mouse cursor. I waited for a while, then restarted (could not ctrl-alt-del, had to hard reset). I let it boot normally again and the same thing happened.

Here is the fixlog and a fresh frst scan, the report is back of course but for some reason couldn't load it's image
