Hello Everyone:

I've just started using Sandboxie Pro 4.16 and see that you can run USB device inside the sandbox. Would doing so protect it against viruses and possibly ransomware?

Tony :)

Create separate sandboxes for each USB/external drive hardware you have connected (or would connect) to your computer. Force run the relevant drive letter to run in the relevant sandbox.

Just make sure assigned the drive letter name as much as possible in order to prevent any slip may happen when USB inserted.

Force Folder feature of Sandboxie will sort it out. ;)

Do you mean protect the computer or the usb drive? If you refer to the computer, then yes, running a USB drive in sandboxie would protect the computer from malware in the USB drive. On the other hand, if you mean preventing malware from infecting the USB drive, then no, it will not protect if the malware is not being sandboxed.

Hope this helps :)
