@sinlam
I installed this program yersterday but now I went in Setting then Updates and when I press Check for updates, something comes up but I can't see it, it's popping up in the top-right corner of my screen so I can't see at all what it says and I can't move it or anything.

It is great that you let us know about this problem :) The dialog appears out of the display screen when the task bar is not positioned at the bottom. We will fix it in the next beta release.

@sinlam
Nice software BTW thanks for sharing!

Thank you for liking SecureAPlus :)

Hi guys,

It is my pleasure to announce the release of SecureAPlus Beta v3.1. If there is no major critical bugs reported, this will be the final release of the beta version. Our entire team will now embark on the preparation of the market-ready version. We will announce its official release date next week.

In this version, we have done quite a massive revamped of the GUI. Since some dialogs are still using the old GUI, the transition from the new to the old or vice versa may not be smooth. But this will soon be rectified once the GUI is 100% revamped.

Based on some requests from the beta testers, we have included the "Disable Universal AV" option. But please note that if you install SecureAPlus for the first time, it will still go through the full system scan which encompass the uploading of the executable files' hashes to the Universal AV server for scanning and initial background whitelisting. After the full system scan is completed, you can then select the "Disable Universal AV" option to stop the service.

Other bugs fixes and enhancements are as follows:

- Fixed - Check for update was not displayed properly if the taskbar is not at the bottom of the screen.
- Fixed - A virus file detected by Universal AV is not displayed in the scanning results if you are using the computer via a normal user account. This happens because the Universal AV service is running under a system account with the admin privilege.
- Removed Ask.com, Babylon, and Subeo from the default trusted certificate list.
- In the virus alert prompt, the word "Allow" is changed to "Allow once" and "Ignore permanently" is changed to "Ignore".
- Add in the "Store" option to allow online purchase.
- Add in the "Account" option which is hyperlinked to SecureAPlus Account Portal, a value-added service to SecureAPlus Premium version.
- Add in the option to "Enter License Code" for users to key in the product license number after purchase.

Just like before, if you have already installed SecureAPlus Beta on your computer and your default setting is automatic update, SecureAPlus will be automatically updated upon your next reboot.

You can login to SecureAPlus Beta Portal and view the latest changelog or download the latest SecureAPlus Beta v3.1 at http://beta.secureaplus.com/Beta2/betaportal_download.php.

Do you think this version is ready for the official release? Please feel free to comment :)

Cheers,

I was meaning to request a feature to disable everything at once (Univeral AV, ClamAV and Interactive Mode).

Hi Ulikedat, just to clarify. Do you mean to disable everything with just one click? In the latest beta version, we already allow users to disable ClamAV, Universal AV and change the mode from Interactive to other but not in one click as we need to cater to various users' preferences. For example, some users may want to disable Universal AV but others want it to be enabled. That is why it is more viable to keep the disable options separate.

I'd love a click everything off in one button yes. Makes sense to me so why not add that and keep other users happy by still keeping the same options to turn off things one by one.

Frankly speaking, we don't encourage a one-click-disable-all mode due to some security concerns. It will be a great disadvantage to novice users who may accidentally disable everything just by a click while exploring SecureAPlus for the first time. Although a software's ease of use is important but when it comes to security, we have to moderate it to ensure that the ease of use does not compromise security too much. Furthermore, since SecureAPlus can be used by both novice users and advanced users, we have to give due consideration to the novice users.

Hi guys,

After fixing those bugs that were reported, we are releasing another version, SecureAPlus Beta v3.1.1 for further testing.

In this version, we have fixed the following problems reported by some of the beta testers:

- The memory leak problem in SecureAPlus.exe.
- SecureAPlus' long running process has affected the internet access.
- Crashing problem due to unexpected response from Universal AV server.

Based on some feedback, we have added in a new option to disable or enable upload of sample files to Universal AV.

We have added two new GUI, Application Whitelisting Standard Mode and Application Whitelisting Advanced Mode to the SecureAPlus Settings. We have also made some other minor modifications like renaming some of the buttons, amending some message prompt text and other GUI issues.

Just like before, if you have already installed SecureAPlus Beta on your computer and your default setting is automatic update, SecureAPlus will be automatically updated upon your next reboot.

You can go to http://beta.secureaplus.com/Beta2/betaportal_download.php to view the latest changelog or download the latest SecureAPlus Beta v3.1.1.

If you are interested, please help us to do some intensive testing of this latest version. Looking forward to all your comments or suggestions.

Hi guys,

We are pleased to announce the release of SecureAPlus beta v3.2.2.

In this version, we have integrated VirusTotal to Application Whitelisting message prompt. Previously, when users attempt to install or run any program that is not found in the trusted list, the Application Whitelisting message popup will appear, displaying Universal AV scan result as well as prompt the user whether to trust and allow the program to run.

uav_result.png

Now, if Universal AV does not have the sample file, it will display the VirusTotal scan result instead of Universal AV.

vt_result.png

If Virustotal does not have the sample file, users will have the option of submitting it to VirusTotal by clicking on the hyperlink.

vt_scan.png

Other bugs fixes and enhancements are as follows:

- Fixed- After clicking on "Complete Scan" button manually, the Universal AV scan results may show fewer infected files than the actual number of infected files at times.
- Fixed - Certain portion of SecureAPlus Main Console's display flickers on some computers.
- Change the header of the Universal AV virus alert from "Threat detected!" to "Threat detected by Universal AV!".
- Only users in the Trusted Account list are allowed to modify the content in the "Manage User Rights".
- Add "Internet Download Manager", "BitTorrent", "qBittorrent" and "uTorrent" to the Restricted Application list.

Note: If you are interested to beta test this version, please install this beta version over the existing Freemium version 3.2.1. This version merges both the freemium and beta version so that if there is any subsequent update for Freemium or beta version and your setting is automatic software update, SecureAPlus will automatically update accordingly.
