Run this tool and post a screenshot of what Intel technologies are supported.

http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/sb/CS-014921.htm

It may be because NX bit is missing on earlier P4 CPUs.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...entium-4/a31d37fe-b7e6-493d-9c6c-f2e57f9b62b7

"See the following article. NX bit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NX_bit

"After AMD's decision to include this functionality in its AMD64 instruction set, Intel implemented the similar XD bit feature in x86 processors beginning with the Pentium 4 processors based on later iterations of the Prescott core."

If you are using one of the earlier Pentium 4 processors, it may not include the NX bit.

The NX Bit has been a hard coded requirement in Windows since the original Windows 8 was released.

End of quote.

An interesting article about running Windows 10 on older hardware, or your "old PC".

Pentium 4, first generation, I personally think it's too old to run this latest operating system, don't you face problems on it?

Hi r is a Pentium 4 is too old, there are even some of that time who can not install Windows 7 because there is no sound driver for many motherboards.

I know from experience, assembled many PCs of those characteristics.

*LATEST*...Voodooshield has just alerted me that gwx.exe and gwxconfigmanager.exe are trying to run.... how can this be when originally I got the 'The CPU isn't supported' message?? Dare I chance installing, only to have it play havoc??
