Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9860 sure comes with some improvements, but Microsoft also confirmed that the new OS version also includes some bugs that might more or less impact the experience users get after installing it.

Needless to say, this is still a work in progress, so the bugs you see here aren’t at all surprising, especially given the fact that Microsoft has warned from the very beginning that this preview is only aimed at advanced users who are willing to submit feedback to the company.

Many of the problems found in the first Windows 10 Technical Preview version, which was labeled as build 9841, are already fixed, but the new release comes with its own issues, so more frequent updates are obviously recommended to make sure that bugs are repaired as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that if you find any other bug in the operating system, the best choice is to send it to Microsoft directly using the built-in feedback application.
“UI design gone backwards temporarily”
First and foremost, Microsoft says that users might experience some issues with a number of features in Windows 10 build 9860, including connecting to Wi-Fi networks. This is because the UI design “has gone backwards temporarily,” as the company says, pretty much because engineers have already focused on “the final experiences.” Improvements for these bugs should be released soon, it says.

At the same time, some computers might not go to sleep and wake up properly, while both Microsoft Mahjong and Solitaire are broken on a number of devices and cannot be launched.

Some UI problems also exist in this new build, and Microsoft warns that in some cases, items could be displayed incorrectly, including some content in the Start menu. The company claims that this only happens on a very limited number of computers, but a fix is anyway in the works as we speak.

Last but not least, those using 2 external monitors with Display Link could get a blue screen of death when undocking. This only happens with multiple monitors configurations, the company guarantees, and a fix is also on its way.

As you can see, there are quite a few bugs in Windows 10 build 9860 and even if you don’t see any of these, you’re still not recommended to install the operating system on your main computer.

Windows 10 Preview is an unfinished product and bugs are something that everyone should expect to come across, so just stick to your other operating system until the stable version is released.
