Xbox One Windows 10 App Gets New Features, Cortana Coming to Console in 2016

More gamers also getting access to the new user experience

The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One is announcing that it is deploying a range of new features for the application associated with the home console on Windows 10 while also adding more people to the program that allows users to try out the features of the new user experience.

Gamers who have previously volunteered to test it will get access to a special built on their device as soon as they are accepted.

The official site of Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the main community liaison for the Xbox One, also explains that the feedback that has been offered so far is very important and encourages uses to continue to talk about their experience.
He adds, "For those who have asked about Cortana, our plan is to add Cortana to the Xbox One experience preview later this year. From there, we’ll ensure that the experience is tuned for gamers before we officially launch Cortana in 2016."

The new Xbox One user experience is designed to arrive before the end of November and will make the entire interface of the console look more like the one used by Windows 10 while also introducing other usability improvements.

Windows 10 app is also getting new features
For the Xbox One application on the most recent Microsoft operating system the company is adding party text chat for those who want to stay connected with friends using something other than voice chat.

The Notifications tab can also be used to now read and to even reply to messages.

There are also new alerts that are designed to tell the player when someone else adds him as a friend, shares or comments on a piece of content.

A Share icon is also added to the top right corner of the activity feed in the Xbox One app on Windows 10, which allows gamers to see the content that they can show other members of the community.

Microsoft is working hard to integrate gaming on its home console and the newest operating system, although the company has no plans to bring titles that are exclusive to the Xbox One to the PC in the coming years.
