By Thomas Orsolya8 min read

Runcati-online.com does a convincing impression of an established brand’s web store, complete with slick product photos, thorough descriptions and prices that are hard to walk away from.

That’s why it pays to stop before adding anything to your cart and learn who’s really behind the site and what usually happens to your money afterward.

Overview

Familiar products, unfamiliar address

Runcati-online.com is a copy. Its catalog, photos and branding come from real brands and stores, none of which runs it, and the genuine sellers trade from their own websites.

Shopping from your phone, you’d likely never notice. The page looks the way it should, the products feel familiar, and the checkout button responds when you tap it.

Advertisements

Behind that polished page is a network of copycat stores. It pours money into ads, takes every order it can, and jumps to fresh domains once complaints start piling up.

Why the deals seem so generous

It starts with the price. A $180 item drops to $39, frequently framed by a ticking countdown or a banner announcing a “closing sale.”

Nothing is being cleared out here. The point of that price is to move you through checkout quickly, before you notice the store is an impostor.

Yes, real brands discount things. They do it on their own websites and through retailers they name, not with 70% off a whole catalog from a store nobody can trace.

Where an order from this store ends up

Usually, an order from a fake shop like Runcati-online.com plays out in one of these ways:

  • No order shows up. Either the tracking never updates, or it follows a parcel that isn’t yours.
  • You get a cheap knockoff. It isn’t the genuine product, and the materials, size and finish all give it away.
  • You get an unrelated item. The store ships something cheap purely so a delivery shows up on record.
  • Unknown charges follow. Check the card you used at checkout and you’ll find payments you never made.

A copied catalog is all Runcati-online.com has. It’s a fake store, so do not buy from it and do not enter your card details at its checkout.

How the Runcati-online.com Scam Works

Hundreds of copycat stores follow the same script as this one. Once the steps are familiar, you’ll catch the next copycat before it gets your money.

Step 1: The ad uses photos it doesn’t own

Real brands and stores made the photos and videos. The scammers simply drop them into a sponsored post on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok, so nothing looks wrong.

Advertisements

Urgency does the selling. The caption announces an anniversary sale, a warehouse clearance, or that “we’re closing our stores.” Comments may be turned off, or stuffed with quick, glowing replies.

The link sends you straight to Runcati-online.com, which appears to be an established online shop.

Step 2: A store cloned down to the details

Real stores are the source of the product photos, descriptions and branding. Menus, guides and even “free returns” badges can look identical.

The one thing it can’t copy is an actual company. With stores like this, the business name, address and customer service are usually missing or go nowhere useful.

Scroll to the footer and open the legal pages. That’s where the copying usually thins out: a generic company name, no address, or a free email address.

Advertisements

Step 3: Hurried into paying without a second look

Countdown timers, “only 3 left” badges and “12 people are viewing this” pop-ups are there to keep you clicking. Slow down, and the holes start showing.

The basket keeps growing thanks to free-shipping thresholds and “buy 2, get 1 free” bundles. Each card that makes it to checkout should yield as much as possible.

Advertisements

Step 4: The confirmation arrives, then the store goes quiet

Once your payment goes through, an order confirmation shows up by email. Nothing about it seems off, and that’s deliberate: it keeps you calm while the store buys time.

You may receive a tracking number a week later. Often it doesn’t move at all, sits on “label created,” or lists a delivery in a city you’ve never called home.

Advertisements

Each day you hold on for a package brings your card’s dispute window nearer to closing. The delay is part of the plan.

Step 5: The package holds a knockoff, if it comes at all

When an order does arrive, it’s usually a cheap copy sent from overseas. It doesn’t match the photos, and it’s not what you handed over money for.

Other stores mail a token item, such as a cheap accessory, to a real address. Once tracking says “delivered,” they point to it to fight your refund.

Step 6: Refund requests go nowhere

Ask support where your order is, and you’ll get silence or a script saying to wait “a few more days.” Any refund that comes up later has impossible conditions.

The offer may be 20% back if you keep the item, or a return to China that you pay for. Both options leave most of your money with the store.

Red Flags at Runcati-online.com

Spotting one strange detail doesn’t prove a store is fake. Stores like Runcati-online.com pile up several at once, and checking each yourself takes about a minute.

Not the official domain

If you’re buying from a real brand, you’re on its own domain or with a retailer its official site lists. Runcati-online.com is neither.

Test it yourself. Look up the brand, go to its official site and put that address next to your browser’s. If they don’t match, this isn’t the brand’s store.

No traceable company anywhere

You’ll rarely find a registered company, tax number or physical address you can check on stores like this. When something goes wrong, there’s nobody to hold responsible.

Advertisements

Genuine brand websites tell you which company you’re buying from. You’ll usually spot it in the footer, the terms of service or the imprint page, so check before paying.

Advertisements

Contact options that lead nowhere useful

On stores like this, help usually means a contact form or a generic email address. There’s no phone number, no live chat and no local return address.

On the real brand’s site, you’ll usually see phone support, store locations and a returns center. A fake store would rather you couldn’t find it at all.

Recycled policy pages from another website

Look at the refund, shipping and privacy pages. On copycat stores they often read like another shop’s paperwork, sometimes still mentioning the wrong store, country or currency.

Advertisements

Go over the returns page line by line. On copycat stores, the real rule (returns to China, at your cost) is often buried below a headline that sounds generous.

Discounts the real brand wouldn’t offer

Taking 70% or more off an entire catalog is rare for an established brand. When every single item gets that kind of markdown, the sale isn’t genuine.

The crossed-out “original” price is often invented as well. It exists to make a fake discount seem bigger than it actually is.

Advertisements

Ratings you can’t trace to real shoppers

Click around those five-star reviews and you’ll rarely reach a real buyer. Look them up elsewhere online, and you usually won’t find a match.

Run a search on the store’s address plus “reviews.” Copycat stores usually show up nowhere, or only in complaints from people waiting for orders.

How to Spot These Scam Websites

Fake brand stores have become harder to spot. Many of them now use AI-generated ads, polished product videos and copied checkout pages that look identical to the real thing.

The good news is that the same few checks still catch almost all of them:

  • Check the address, not the logo. Open the brand’s official site yourself and compare addresses. One extra word or an odd ending is enough.
  • Scan the site before you pay. Paste the address into the MalwareTips Website Scanner. It shows the domain’s age, security results and known warning signs in seconds.
  • Look up who owns the domain. A Whois.com lookup shows when it was registered. A brand’s official shop doesn’t sit on a newly registered domain.
  • Find the company behind the store. A real brand names its legal company, address and tax details. A copycat store leaves them out or invents them.
  • Be suspicious of “closing down” sales. Store-closure, anniversary and warehouse-clearance stories are the most common hooks in fake brand ads.
  • Search for outside reviews. Look the store up on Trustpilot and in search results. No history at all is as telling as a wall of complaints.
  • Watch the payment options. A checkout that pushes bank transfers, crypto or a payment page on another domain is a reason to stop.

A browser extension can help. Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocks many known scam and phishing sites, and Malwarebytes ScamGuard checks suspicious links and messages before you click.

How to Buy the Real Thing Safely

Liking something on Runcati-online.com doesn’t mean you’re stuck with the risk. You can usually get the genuine item another way:

  • Begin with the official site. Type the brand’s name into a search yourself and shop on its official website. Skip links from ads and comments.
  • Look for an authorized seller list. Many brands publish one. When a shop isn’t on it, it isn’t one of their sellers.
  • Confirm the sale at the source. If a clearance is real, the brand announces it on its own website or verified social accounts. Sponsored ads alone don’t count.
  • Buy through a protected marketplace. Does the brand sell there? Then its official storefront offers a clear route to a refund.
  • Keep your payment protected. Never send a bank transfer, gift card or crypto. Use a credit card or PayPal instead.

Don’t let Runcati-online.com’s price pull you back. A real seller may charge more, but you get the genuine product and refunds that are honored.

What To Do If You Already Fell For the Scam

If you paid a fake store, move quickly. The sooner you act, the better your chances of getting the money back and stopping further charges.

  1. Call your bank or card issuer. Say you paid a fake store and ask for a chargeback. Disputes have time limits, often around 120 days, so don’t wait.
  2. Open a PayPal dispute if you paid that way. Choose “item not received” or “significantly not as described.” PayPal generally accepts claims within 180 days of payment.
  3. Block or replace your card. If you typed your card details into the site, ask for a new card and turn on transaction alerts.
  4. Save your evidence. Keep the order email, the tracking number, screenshots of the product page and any messages from the store.
  5. Watch for follow-up scams. Fake delivery texts asking for a “customs fee” or “address update” often follow these orders. Don’t pay them or click their links.
  6. Change reused passwords. If you created an account on the store with a password you use elsewhere, change it on those other sites.
  7. Protect your data. Your name, address and phone number are now in the wrong hands. Malwarebytes Personal Data Remover finds where your details are exposed and helps remove them.
  8. Cut off the ads. These stores find people through ads. AdGuard blocks many malicious ads and pop-ups in your browser, so fewer of them reach you.
  9. Report the store. Report the ad on the platform where you saw it. In the US, file a report at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. For cross-border purchases, use econsumer.gov.

If you downloaded anything from the store, such as an “order tracking” app or a file attached to an email, scan your device with Malwarebytes Free.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Runcati-online.com a legitimate store?

No. Runcati-online.com is a fake store. Its catalog is copied, with photos and descriptions lifted from real brands that don’t run the site.

Why does Runcati-online.com look so convincing?

Because it borrows almost all of its content from real brands and stores: product photos, descriptions, menus and guides. What it doesn’t have is a real business behind it all.

Will I receive my order from Runcati-online.com?

Maybe. Probably not what you paid for, though. With stores like this, buyers often get nothing, or a cheap copy that looks nothing like the photos.

I already paid. Can I get my money back?

Quite often, yes, if you act fast. Contact your card issuer or PayPal and file the dispute as “item not received” or “not as described.”

Hold on to the order email, the tracking number and screenshots of the product page, and don’t wait to hear back from the store first.

Should I replace my card?

Yes, provided you entered your card on Runcati-online.com. Have your bank send a new card, and check every statement for small test charges.

Where can I report Runcati-online.com?

The platform that showed you the ad should hear about it. So should the brand whose images were taken, and your consumer protection agency should get a formal complaint.

The Bottom Line

Strip away the copied photos and products, and Runcati-online.com has nothing of its own. The low prices are bait for orders you’ll probably never receive.

Don’t order anything from Runcati-online.com. If you still want the product, buy it straight from the brand’s own website or from a retailer the brand names.

Ordered already? Today, call your bank or open a PayPal dispute. Keep every email and screenshot, and if your card details went in, ask for a new card.
