These Blog Terms and Conditions (the “Blog Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MalwareTips blog section (the “Blog”) and any related pages, posts, guides, and materials published on the Blog (collectively, the “Blog Content”). The Blog is operated by MalwareTips (also referred to as “MalwareTips,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Blog, you agree to these Blog Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Blog.
1) Relationship to other policies
These Blog Terms apply specifically to the Blog. Additional policies may also apply, including our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any separate terms for other MalwareTips services (for example, forum terms). If there is a conflict, the policy that is more specific to the feature you are using will generally control for that feature.
2) Eligibility
The Blog is not intended for children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Blog.
3) Changes to these Blog Terms
We may update these Blog Terms at any time. Changes become effective when posted. Your continued use of the Blog after changes are posted means you accept the updated Blog Terms.
Blog Content, research, and “scam” labeling
4) Informational and educational purpose only
The Blog Content is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not legal advice, financial advice, investment advice, cybersecurity consulting, or any other professional service.
You are responsible for how you use the information. If you need professional advice, consult a qualified professional.
5) Scam exposure and gray areas
We publish content about online scams, malware, fraud patterns, deceptive advertising, and suspicious websites or services. Our articles may reference products, domains, companies, apps, or services as potentially fraudulent based on research, analysis, open-source signals, and user reports.
Important limitations:
- We can be wrong. A website or service we flag may later prove legitimate, may change ownership, or may fall into a gray area.
- You should verify independently. Do not rely on any single article as the sole basis for decisions involving money, security, reputation, or legal action.
- Context matters. Scams evolve quickly. A safe-looking service today can become risky tomorrow, and the reverse can happen too.
6) Opinions and author responsibility
Where we express views, conclusions, or interpretations, those reflect the views of the individual authors and do not necessarily represent an official position of MalwareTips.
7) No endorsement and no affiliation
References to third-party brands, websites, tools, products, or services do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or partnership unless we explicitly state otherwise.
8) Third-party links and external resources
The Blog may link to third-party websites, services, software downloads, and resources. We do not control them. We are not responsible for their availability, security, or content. Use third-party links at your own risk and review their terms and privacy practices before engaging.
Malware removal guides, tools, and risk warnings
9) Use guides at your own risk
Some Blog Content includes step-by-step malware removal guides, troubleshooting instructions, scripts, commands, registry edits, configuration changes, or recommendations for third-party security tools.
You understand and agree:
- Device and data risk. Following malware removal instructions can cause loss of data, instability, performance issues, or unintended changes to your system.
- Backups are your responsibility. You should back up important data before attempting malware removal steps.
- Your environment is unique. What works on one system may not work on yours.
- No guarantees. We do not guarantee that any guide will fix your issue or that any tool will remove all threats.
10) Downloads and security software
If the Blog links to third-party tools, installers, scripts, or utilities, you are responsible for evaluating the source and verifying authenticity (for example, by using official vendor pages, checksums, signatures, and reputable security scanning). Any downloading or installation is done at your own risk.
Advertising, affiliate links, and monetization
11) Ads and affiliate relationships
The Blog may display advertisements and may use affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
We aim for editorial integrity. Advertising or affiliate relationships should not determine our conclusions, but you should assume some content may be monetized.
12) Sponsored content
If we publish sponsored content or paid placements, we will aim to label them clearly. Even then, you should do your own due diligence.
User content, submissions, and comments
13) User submissions
If the Blog allows comments, forms, submissions, or uploads, you are responsible for your content (“User Content”).
You agree not to submit User Content that is:
- unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, deceptive, or privacy-invasive
- infringing on copyright, trademark, or other rights
- containing malware, exploits, or instructions intended to harm systems
- impersonating others or misrepresenting affiliation
- spam, promotional, or manipulative content
14) License to use User Content
By submitting User Content, you grant MalwareTips a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting and moderation), publish, translate, and display that User Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Blog, unless prohibited by law.
15) Moderation and removal
We may, but are not required to, monitor or moderate User Content. We may remove or restrict access to User Content at any time for any reason, including if we believe it violates these Blog Terms or could create risk for users or MalwareTips.
16) No support obligation through Blog comments
Blog comments and submissions are not guaranteed support channels. We may not respond. If you need help, use the official channels we provide for support requests.
Intellectual property
17) Our content and permissions
Unless stated otherwise, MalwareTips owns or licenses the Blog Content, including text, graphics, logos, layout, and design. You may view and share links to Blog Content for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, mirror, sell, or create derivative works from Blog Content without prior written permission, except where allowed by law (for example, fair use or quotation with attribution).
18) Trademarks and brand references
Third-party names and trademarks may be used for identification purposes. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Copyright complaints and takedown requests
19) Copyright infringement notices

- a statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that your notice is accurate and you are the rights holder (or authorized agent)
- your physical or electronic signature
We may remove or restrict content while we review.
20) Reputation, disputes, and correction requests
If you are a brand owner, representative, researcher, or impacted party and believe an article is inaccurate or outdated, you may request review. Include:
- the URL(s)
- the specific claim(s) you dispute
- supporting evidence (public documentation, security reports, ownership proof, timelines, etc.)
- what outcome you are requesting (correction, update, clarification)
We may update, correct, clarify, or decline, at our discretion. We do not promise removal. We may also publish updates or add context to preserve an accurate historical record.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability
22) Disclaimer of warranties
The Blog and Blog Content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

25) Severability
If any part of these Blog Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
26) No waiver
