<\/em> although VIPRE\u00a0recommended this setting \u00a0for\u00a0advanced users\u00a0only,and\u00a0my brother\u00a0was\u00a0far from\u00a0being\u00a0one.<br \/>\nAfter I finish the &#8220;Setup Wizard&#8221; .. &#8220;BANG&#8221; \u00a0the first\u00a0firewall alert pops-up.I\u00a0selected \u00a0&#8220;Allow&#8221;\u00a0,and try to move on , then after 3 seconds &#8220;BANG&#8221; another one..&#8221;Allow&#8221; again, then ,you guessed it another one.In fact VIPRE managed to dispaly 10 alerts in less then 10 minutes.<br \/>\nThen\u00a0my brother\u00a0came\u00a0to\u00a0the computer\u00a0and the madness\u00a0began.<br \/>\nHe\u00a0tried\u00a0to\u00a0start\u00a0Steam\u00a0(gaming platform)\u00a0and yes,\u00a0the VIPRE Firewall \u00a0\u00a0need it some\u00a0answers.He calmly selected &#8220;Allow&#8221; on the first alert but others followed \u00a0so he did get annoyed a little.Then we tried to start Yahoo!Messenger (IM\u00a0platform) and other alerts came&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Untitled.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-379\" title=\"Untitled\" src=\"\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Untitled.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"964\" height=\"639\" srcset=\"https:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Untitled.png 964w, https:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Untitled-300x198.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 964px) 100vw, 964px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">His solution ? <em>&#8220;Shut down&#8221;<\/em> VIPRE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/save.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-378\" title=\"VIPRE Shutdown\" src=\"\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/save.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"177\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So my question is : Why isn&#8217;t GFI adding a white list to their Firewall?Because VIPRE Antivirus Premium is a \u00a0very solid product and If \u00a0they add a white list \u00a0to their HIPS and Firewall they can have one of the best security suites on the market.<\/p>\n<p>Also GFI can you make your &#8220;pop-ups&#8221; more user friendly?A newbie that will enable the \u00a0firewall will never know what he allowed or denyd base on your pop-ups.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/VIPRE-Firewall-Unfriendly.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-380\" title=\"VIPRE Firewall Unfriendly\" src=\"\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/VIPRE-Firewall-Unfriendly.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"408\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/VIPRE-Firewall-Unfriendly.png 408w, https:\/\/malwaretips.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/VIPRE-Firewall-Unfriendly-248x300.png 248w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 408px) 100vw, 408px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"gt-form-c\">\n<div id=\"gt-res-c\">\n<div id=\"gt-res-p\">\n<div id=\"gt-res-data\">\n<div id=\"gt-res-content\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">I understand\u00a0that the\u00a0firewall\u00a0is\u00a0not\u00a0enabled\u00a0by default,\u00a0but for\u00a0those who\u00a0decide\u00a0to turn\u00a0this feature on,\u00a0you should make\u00a0the warnings\u00a0more friendly\u00a0and informative.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><em>Conclusions :<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Buy VIPRE Antivirus Premium,it&#8217;s a great product, but when you install it ,if you are a newbie or simply hate pop-ups ,go with the default installation.<\/p>\n<p>And GFI please add a white list to your great product.<\/p>\n<p>I hope that one day \u00a0GFI will call this product : \u00a0<em>&#8220;VIPRE Internet Security&#8221;<\/em> and not &#8220;VIPRE &#8216;Antivirus Premium&#8221;
