funnel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FoodiePerk leads with the impression of an enormous gift-card reward from a recognizable brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The underlying reality is substantially more complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are not simply claiming $250 from Chipotle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are clicking into a third-party performance marketing ecosystem where completing advertiser offers is central to eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the company being used to attract you can apparently be switched almost overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is why we consider the FoodiePerk presentation deceptive enough to avoid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Familiar Scam Formula<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Federal Trade Commission&#8217;s past enforcement actions are particularly relevant because this type of funnel has existed for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014, the FTC announced a $2.5 million settlement
