Today, AdDuplex published its monthly report on Windows 10 usage. The data is based on the over 5,000 Microsoft Store apps that use the AdDuplex SDK v.2 or higher, and it was collected on August 27.

Compared to last month's report, the big news is that version 1909 is the most popular version now, finally passing 1903. The newest version, 2004, increased from 11.6% to 24.1%, as it's finally starting to roll out more broadly. Version 1909 decreased in usage from 36.8% to 35.5%, and version 1903 decreased the most, from 43.6% to 35.5%.

Quality control is harder when:
1. Insiders don't report bugs
2. Known bugs aren't fixed
3. Releasing multiple SKU (adds complexity)
4. Releasing 2 major updates per year for consumers

I think the main problem is absence of the QA team which Microsoft fired back in 2014. They also have issues with their Feedback Hub; a lot of reported bugs go unnoticed and are still present in the "stable" versions of Windows 10. Besides that, just relying on average PC users to report bugs is a disaster.

Barnacules Nerdgasm made a great video on topic of buggy Windows 10.
