Adguard 5.3 is a new release of the powerful ad and popup blocking utility that is designed to protect users from unwanted ads on websites. It silently works in the background and automatically removes banners from the pages you visit, thereby saving your traffic and reducing the page loading time. Apart from blocking ads, the program also keeps you away from phishing and malicious websites, protecting both the users and the computers. The program supports both 32x and 64x Windows versions, and it works on all popular browsers. In the new version, Adguard has received a new language auto-detection system for picking a primary regional filter. Three new filters were added for the different segments of Internet: Japanese, Portuguese and Dutch/Spanish. Adguard’s Interface has been translated to 5 new languages: Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, German and Serbian, and of course program has been optimized once again, showing much better results in performance.

Fortunately they can grabbed a one year license only an effort was you need to send at least 4 friends before they can send the license key.

Too bad it's not free, so AdBlock is the best free alternative, in my opinion.

I suppose you did trial AdMuncher and AdGuard before purchasing this one. What did you like about this, compared to others?

It is cheaper then AdMuncher and has more intuitive GUI. It has nice clear interface, lots of filters, it's very easy to configure. Also, I like very much AdGuard Helper. With it you can easily remove any element on page that you want.
It's great for young and old users that don't really know how to use computer except for searching over the Internet. Just install and leave it! :)

If they do the same thing as Adblock Plus and the Internet Explorer version then why not go with the free alternitive?

Same here..... And won't AdGuard run a background service even after you've close the browser?

Well like Adguard has really a good potential application adblocker however since some free version were widespread and does the same thing.

If Adguard can block even ads from instant messenger then there is an alternative, like Pidgin an open source and no ads at all.

But again a useful application for anyone wants a widespread function.

You are right, you can add even Skype so that it can't display ads...
