Apple will kick off the production of the next-generation iPhone SE in the very first months of 2020, according to a new analyst note, and the official launch should take place by the end of the first quarter.

Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities tells investors that Apple is very likely to use a LCP (liquid crystal polymer) antenna design for wireless transmissions, with all components to be produced by Career Technologies and Murata Manufacturing.

If everything goes according to the plan, the production of the new “small” iPhone could start as early as January, albeit the dates could vary depending on how everything advances in the planning phase.

The next-generation iPhone SE is likely to be based on iPhone 8, so instead of a 4-inch screen as the original model, it could come with a 4.7-inch LCD display. Furthermore, the device is expected to boast a design that reminds of the iPhone 8, rather than the one of the iPhone 4/5s that inspired the iPhone SE as well.

iPhone SE 2 will use hardware that debuted on the iPhone 11, like the A13 chip, but instead will only use 3GB RAM, versus 4GB on its more premium sibling. It will continue to feature a home button with integrated Touch ID and Face ID won’t be offered.

Given it’ll retain the look of the iPhone 8, this new iPhone SE generation won’t come with a notch at the top of the screen, therefore Apple doesn’t have the space to embed the necessary components to introduce Face ID.

Like the new-generation iPhones, the new iPhone SE 2 will lack 3D Touch but feature a software-based alternative.

Pricing for this new model is expected to start at $399 in the United States, with the debut to take place in March of April.

Still rocking the iPhone SE, without giving in to the temptation of changing to a bigger phone.
I only wished that it can retain the size of SE/5S with bezel-less instead of a clone size of iPhone 8.
