Avast 8 release on Thursday...hopefully

Hey everyone, I found this on the Avast Facebook page...

We're celebrating the launch of avast! 8 with our first Hangout on Air. Che Johnson, Avast Product Specialist, will introduce avast! 8 and highlight a few of the awesome new features.

Just before we go Live, you will be given a link to watch here. When you see it...CLICK it! For now, watch our video invitation, and please share with your friends. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKhi0Q-SZxY

The event will be held on this Thursday (28/02/2013) at 7PM Eastern Time.

This should be interesting... I really hope the bugs from late v6 and v7 are fixed.

I feel like they are rushing another update out to users... better to wait for perfection

Yes and if the Agnitium firewall added, it will be far better and i will stop complain about it ^^

Still, other issues remain tho. I am still a happy user of a specific v7 build on 1 machine.

Everything is smooth there. Like the saying: If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Moment I upgrade the build, problems will be flying everywhere again, that is why the program updates are disabled.

As for v8, the hype is the same in a way as CIS 6, however CIS 6 took time to test properly before releasing and had major improvements, while avast! is just releasing it to release and go up against the competition without focusing on core issues, only a couple...

Pointless having an eye candy GUI where problems and bugs were not fixed and components not improved at all. On top of that, adding useless tools that there are freeware alternatives that do the job just fine or better.

Agreed. Reason being as the the test I did, it said that a file was blocked yet it still ran the program anyway.
