Avast Mac Security 12.5 adds Nagscreen

New Update for Avast Mac Security 12.5 released Feb 14, 2017.

What's new:
  • improved Home Network Security scan
  • UI tune up in the installer
  • other security fixes and improvements...
You can update to the latest version from Preferences > Updates with the "Update now" button in Program section.

Nag-screen was added in v12.4. :(

My personal opinion is that the side ads are worth it. For the free AV aspect ig gets the job done. Over the past while I have noticed that if you just install the bare minimum of shields, password manager, browser, ect. You don't seem to get too much bother. :)

I disagree because there is no Paid version of Mac Security by Avast. I've not seen the Nagscreen but I made a wise decision to have uninstalled it a long time ago.

I am betting it's an upsell for their other Avast products like SecureLine VPN.

Remember Avira Free used to have a Nagscreen, no one liked it.
