Detection: Avira
Removal: Can be argued between both
Lightness: ESET
Features: Balanced between the two
Prevention: Both have different approaches.

My suggestion: try both and decide :)

First I ask, have you tried either of these?

Second, why Avira vs ESET? Did you not like either Kaspersky or BitDefender?

Tried KIS 2013 and the memory usage never came lower than 60MB.
Tried BDIS 2012 and got infected. So I haven't had good experience using those two suites ;)

Trying Avira IS 2012 now and let's say I was impressed by the new ESS 6 RC than by Avira 2013 beta. So now I'm on the fence and can't decide between Avira and ESET :)

That's a good comparison :)

I would go with ESET for the moment

Avira according to me is also Good but gives a lot of False positive

But then Again it depends on your needs and how and for what you actually use your computer
