Battle: Kaspersky IS 2016 vs ESET Smart Security 2016 vs Bitdefender IS 2016 vs Emsisoft IS 10

Now! ESET has just released their newest security suite: ESET Smart Security 9 (2016 Edition). These products are on the top of security suites which are produced by giants on security companies. Most of them released 2016 editions of their products. I want to compare on their newest products with new features (such as on ESET: Banking Protection, Bitdefender: Ransomware Protection and new Firewall, etc...) and some enhanced features.

And now, which is your choose for your security? Please let me know your opinion!

We should admit that in terms of marketing shares and strategy then ESET/Kaspersky have an edge which why it influence on the decision making of the user choice however with forums like this hence any myths must be steer out.

Emsisoft is an example of a potential security product compare on big ones.

After patch C, KIS 2016 work really well in my Windows 10 machine.

I tried all 4 on Win 10, only with Eset I used the older version (8).

Kaspersky has many features not working on Win 10; system was very slow (Kasp used a lot of Cpu, high on Ram ).

Eset: as far as I could see since I joined MT, they have a good detection rate (PUP included) = they do they "homework" and quickly add new signatures. Unfortunately their 0 Day detection rate is not so "stellar".

Bitdefender: standard config has many settings on Medium/low. I would increase AV, Realtime to max, and activate IPS. Good on resources, kept my pc malware free for years (with all settings on max). Good detection rate, good 0 Day protection.

Emsisoft: excellenty pricacy policy and support. good signature detection, very good Behavioral protection. very good PUP but not as Eset.
New improvements are being added to version 11. Unfortunately they choose to keep compatibility with other AV instead of ading new components/protection layers (e.g anti-exploit). It's a freat and fast program. I would use it with an anti-exploit program, e.g Malwarebytes anti-exploit or Hitmanpro alert. ...and an add blocker.

My final choice: Emsisoft + anti-exploit.

Not everyone would found that as unfortunate. Also they have updated their protection

I'm currently using Eset Smart Security 8. I've mainly been using Eset since 2003. I'm waiting for them to work all the bugs out of Eset Smart Security 9 before upgrading. I may start using Emsisoft Internet Security in a few months since they are adding a script blocker, and an exploit blocker now. I'm waiting to see how those features perform when they are finished. I'm also doing some beta testing for them to help contribute to improving their product.

I watch a lot of security test on youtube when I get bored. The tester usually uses around 150 fresh malware samples around 8-24 hours old. Kaspersky has not been performing well in those test; at least not what I would expect from Kaspersky which has been so solid in Independent testing in the past. Eset done considerably better in most of those test. Bitdefender, and Emsisoft which uses Bitdefender's signataures done really well in all those test. I think Emsisoft will be the up, and comer with the new features currently being added.

Poor Bitdefender~~~~

I think the ATC(active Threat Control) and IDS will block more threats with out the huge virus database...
And Bitdefender IS is also quite flient, and don't require much configuration.

O Emsisoft tbm lançou SUA Nova Versão, Emsisoft 11, veio com algumas melhorias incluindo anti-ransomware e anti-exploit, eu particularmente prefiro o Emsisoft dentre os citados, ele possui uma excelente taxa de detecção, superior aos concorrentes, om ótimo firewall,e pelo oq eu andei pesquisando é superior ao firewall presente no karspesky, possui um ótimo bloqueador de comportamento, a suas assinaturas são precisas e eficientes, isso por que o Emsisoft trabalha com dois motores, ele possui o motor (A) q é o próprio Emsisoft e possui o motor (B) o responsável por esse motor hoje é a BitDefender, enquanto a BitDefender se preocupa em manter sua ótima taxa de detecção a Emsisoft investe seu tempo em outros quesitos, como por exemplo PUP, já que a Emsisoft recebe as atualizações referentes a BitDefender isso garante a ele uma excelente taxa de detecção, a tela inicial da Emsisoft é bem agradável de fácil intendimento, isso tbm é bom, mas os concorrentes citados tbm são bons, creio q estejam no mesmo nível, estou me referindo a Karspesky e BitDefender, Eset possui uma boa taxa de detecção e recursos bons, mas no meu ponto de vista é inferior aos outros 3 citados, inferior em tudo, mas de qualquer forma é bom e é uma boa opção, já avast eu sinceramente vejo ele como uma opção free pra quem n entende de tecnologia, avast pra mim é quase a mesma coisa de n se ter nada no pc, já passei muita raiva com avast, teve uma época q eu instalei avast no pc, e usei ele durante um tempo, ai em um belo dia, o avast começou apitar o tempo inteiro alegando que havia virus no pc, ai subia aquela mensagem né, "uma ameaça foi detectada e enviada a quarentena" nessa época eu n tinha conhecimento algum a respeito, dai eu liguei para um primo e perguntei a ele assim, vc sabe algum bom anti virus? estou com virus no pc e o avast n ta resolvendo, ai ele disse assim, bom, soube através de um amigo que o A-Squared é bom, só q só serve pra escanear, dai baixei esse A-Squared e escaneei o pc, ai veio a surpresa, tinha mais de 500 malwares no pc, se n me engano 540, tudo malware mesmo, cheguei assustar quando vi, ai veio a outra surpresa, o A-Squared n só detectou como excluiu todos, depois disso o Avast parou de apitar, e ai em diante passei a amar esse A-Squared, um tempo depois a empresa lançou o seu substituto, o atual Emsisoft Anti-Malware, essa é minha história com avast cara, hoje eu odeio avast.
