Video game developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that they are planning to launch a new Battlefield 4 Premium Edition on October 21 on the PC using the Origin digital distribution service and that the same content will be delivered for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PS3 on October 24.

The new version of the first person shooter is designed to offer the core title while also offering customers access to the Premium membership, which in turn opens up access to the five

This means Battlefield 4 fans can experience more multiplayer content, including 20 extra maps, new game modes and a wide array of weapons and vehicles.

There are also more camouflage options, paints, emblems and dog tags that gamers can use to customize their character.

12 bonus Battlefield 4 Gold Packs and priority position in the server queues for multiplayer matches are also included in the Premium Edition.

The team adds, "Featuring best-in-class multiplayer and first-person shooter action, the Battlefield 4 Premium Edition lets players experience deep, rich content ranging from the majestic landscape in Battlefield 4 China Rising amphibious action in Battlefield 4 Naval Strike to urban combat in Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth to the experimental high-tech warfare in the arctic landscape of Battlefield 4 Final Stand."
Battlefield 4 might finally be fixed
Battlefield 4 Premium Edition is a package which is designed to show off the improvements that DICE has delivered for the first person shooter since it was launched.

A recent major September update for the title changed a lot of core mechanics and tweaked the balance for both weapons and vehicles.

The development team has also pledged that it will continue to support Battlefield 4 after the launch of The Last Stand, based on the feedback that the community is offering via the special CTE.

Gamers are still complaining about issues with the netcode of the shooter and about some of the core feature decisions that the studio has made.

At the same time the company is working with Visceral Games in order to put the final touches on Battlefield Hardline, which is supposed to be launched in the first few months of 2015 and will focus on the fight between law enforcement agencies and criminal cartels.

The game was supposed to arrive this fall in order to compete with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare but concerns over quality forced the team at Electronic Arts to delay it after feedback offered during the beta showed some issues.
