BUCHAREST, Romania – May 19th, 2011 - BitDefender®, an award-winning provider of innovative internet security solutions, has today announced the launch of the public BETA for BitDefender Total Security 2012.

The latest version of BitDefender’s flagship PC security product has been designed with convenience in mind to offer the most secure, efficient and user-friendly experience. Florin Virlan, BitDefender Engineering Director, Consumer Products Division observed:
"From a user interaction point of view, the new Auto-pilot mode is probably the most notable change. When you turn it on, no alerts are generated anymore and all decisions are made automatically. We're excited to see what real-life users think about it"
With data security an increasing concern, we've also added data synchronization between computers and improved the secure online backup. We’re confident this is the best version of BitDefender yet and look forward to the input we’ll gather from the BETA period.

Other changes include a Scan Dispatcher which runs scanning tasks (including a recurring system scan) in slices of time which are otherwise unused, so that system load from scanning does not interfere with the normal usage of the computer. The BitDefender Rescue CD has also evolved into a bootable Linux environment suitable for cleaning and restoration work, available directly from the host computer

Cool..maybe you can provide some more screenshots...and feedback:D ...as for the MBAM Free incompatibility that's just sad.... hopefully it's just a beta thing.

Indeed a disappointment, Panda does the same from what I know, What I'll do is install MBAM afterwards to test if there are any infections on the VM.

I'm conducting a video review now.

@stormgtr Thanks, I'm glad you were able to install it, I'm not so lucky.
Is a fresh snapshot, tried re-downloading, restarting PC, Running it as admin/non-admin, Nothing is working. This won't stop me from testing it.
I'm installing Windows XP Professional SP3 now and will atleast try on there.

MrXidus, I installed it on my host so no problems here. Are you installing on a VM?

The BitDefender toolbar looks great in this version.

@stormgtr Yes I'm installing it on Vmware Workstation, I plan on testing it against malware as I normally do.

@Tomo Great let me know if you can install it or not, Are you in VMware or VirtualBox?

I'm done testing the 20 malicious links, installed MBAM free fine and now running a quick scan.

Edit: Flagged SAS Portable Scanner as a virus, I allowed it through tho.

Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing your video.

I threw 10 quick links at it from MDL, and it The webguard blocked most of them.
