Yes, you had fake DNS server set on your PC. Zemana took care of it in Smart Scan.

Hi I have the same problem. Just the IP beginns with 188. Sorry i am not home right now and was checking it on my phone. When I searched the ip address it says its from the Russian Federation. The Zemana detects it and repairs it but if I restart de computer it finds the sem ip address again. I dont know but the last few days the modem I have is resetting every 2-3 minutes. It is impossible to doenload any program. I had a week ago a very strong virus and malware I thought I have cleaned it but I guess not. I have talked to my internet provider and they dont know anything. They just said they will send a techy to check the line. My question is how can i get rid of this dns hijack?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
