I used to like CCleaner but after installing Commodo Firewall I kept getting flags about CCleaner trying to change browser settings. Is clearing histories, cookies, etc. considered changing browser settings? Or are these FPs from Commodo Firewall? Am I missing something? I liked that it cleaned Edge but I dumped it to see if the flags stopped. I don't get any flags using BleachBit, which doesn't clean Edge.

Well, I stopped using ccleaner after the acquisition by Avast. I have not tried it since then but I suppose it is full of ads now. Wait for other member who might give you the right info. I personally use Kerish Doctor which I trust.

You should be able to disable this automatic cleaning functionality from within the configuration settings for CCleaner (wherever that may be) as far as I am aware.

This was the case when I once used it however.

I do not use CCleaner and haven't for an extremely long time, long before the hassle after the Avast acquisition and the breach that took place. Therefore I cannot be of more help on the settings.

Thanks Zero! That's what I thought.
You're welcome. I had the exact same thing not long back with KIS's system watcher alerting me about CCleaner changing browser settings and soon realised what it was. Nice to know CF is doing it's job for you though.
