The Chrome team is delighted to announce the promotion of Chrome 67 to the stable channel for Windows, Mac and Linux. This will roll out over the coming days/weeks.

Chrome 67.0.3396.62 contains a number of fixes and improvements -- a list of changes is available in the log. Watch out for upcoming Chrome and Chromium blog posts about new features and big efforts delivered in 67.

Site Isolation Trial

We're continuing to roll out Site Isolation to a larger percentage of the stable population in Chrome 67. Site Isolation improves Chrome's security and helps mitigate the risks posed by Spectre.

To diagnose whether an issue is caused by Site Isolation, use chrome://flags#site-isolation-trial-opt-out as described here. Please report any trial-specific issues to help us fix them before Site Isolation is launched more broadly.

Security Fixes and Rewards

Note: Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.

This update includes 34 security fixes. Below, we highlight fixes that were contributed by external researchers. Please see the Chrome Security Page for more information.

We would also like to thank all security researchers that worked with us during the development cycle to prevent security bugs from ever reaching the stable channel.

As usual, our ongoing internal security work was responsible for a wide range of fixes:

  • [847542] Various fixes from internal audits, fuzzing and other initiatives

Many of our security bugs are detected using AddressSanitizer, MemorySanitizer, UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer, Control Flow Integrity, libFuzzer, or AFL.

If you're interested in Enterprise relevant information please look through the Enterprise Release Notes for Chrome 67.

Thank you,

So, I just updated to 67.0.3396.62 (Official Build) (64-bit) on my windows 10 pc , however my default theme is much darker compared to before, when I hold alt-tab I can see the old light gray theme, however as soon as I switch back to the chrome window the newer darker one appears again. Anyone know how can I get back the old one? Here's a comparison

New:

I couldn't find anything even close to the old one in the themes store

You can get it a shade lighter, but not as before.

It's a temporary solution and can be applied to the current build. No switching browsers or downgrading.

Continue on.. expand Spoiler below.
The best I could find without downgrading (never recommended anyway) or using a theme, was to change an experimental flag setting.

Change (Default -> Refresh)
UI Layout for the browser's top chrome
#top-chrome-md
  • Touchable significantly increased the top half of Chrome.
  • Refresh appears similar to Default, but lighter shade similar to Touchable.

Applied on Google Chrome v67.0.3396.62 (Official Build) (64-bit), Windows 10.

Another minor change are the rounded corners, this is due to Material Design refresh setting you applied above.

Touchable makes the tabs and everything appear too big, and also the hidden tabs that hide when you've opened too many tabs and chrome can't show them all at once, are broken, I can't side-scroll to them in the tab section. I found a theme "drops on gray" that is almost the same as the old color. The refresh option looks pretty sick with that address bar, I'll try it and see how it goes
