I have noticed on Chrome...if you search anything...its fine. But if you search "google"...you get "Did you mean to go to google?" bar below address bar.
Do you get the same?
Why the bar on searching for the word google?

I have also noticed in Windows FW - Advanced settings - Inbound Rules - There is an entry "Google Chrome - (mDNS - In).
Do you have the same?
Any info on this?

It's the same for Windows 7, but It only seems to do that when you type in Google.

Your solution lies in the Chrome Settings.

Disable 'Use a web service to help resolve spelling errors'.

Edit: mDNS has something to do with chrome://devices/ I haven't any Chrome mDNS listed in Windows Firewall. What did you find about it on Google?

But isn't the word I am typing is correct "google" so its not spelling errors.

And if its due to settings then why only for the word "google" & not any other words?

And the setting was always there & was not happening previously. May be they changed something or a bug in the latest version or that mDNS entry in the FW is the reason as I dont remember seeing the entry previously in FW.

Not much info about mDNS. Most of the posts suggests its better to keep it enabled & allowed in FW for Chrome to work fine, etc... I have the entry enabled & allowed in FW.
So it seems mDNS is not the culprit here.

Anyway, not a prob just minor thing & just wanted to get some info.
