Hello,

They call me TwinHeadedEagle around here, and I'll be working with you.

Before we start please read and note the following:
  • At the top of your post, please click on the "Watch thread" button and make sure to check Watch this thread...and receive email notifications. This will send an email to you as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing me to solve your problem faster.
  • Please do not install any new software during the cleaning process other than the tools I provide for you. This can hinder the cleaning process. Please do not perform System Restore or any other restore.
  • Instructions I give to you are very simple and made for complete beginner to follow. That's why you need to read through my instructions carefully and completely before executing them.
  • Please do not run any tools other than the ones I ask you to, when I ask you to. Some of these tools can be very dangerous if used improperly. Also, if you use a tool that I have not requested you use, it can cause false positives, thereby delaying the complete cleaning of your machine.
  • All tools we use here are completely clean and do not contain any malware. If your antivirus detects them as malicious, please disable your antivirus and then continue.
  • If during the process you run across anything that is not in my instructions, please stop and ask. If any tool is running too much time (few hours), please stop and inform me.
  • I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
  • Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.
  • Please attach all report using
    fjqb1h.png
button below. Doing this, you make it easier for me to analyze and fix your problem.

  • Do not ask for help for your business PC. Companies are making revenue via computers, so it is good thing to pay someone to repair it.
  • If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

So in other words, no scanning of any type while running this, correct?

Edit: and I'm guessing this is for the Conduit error problem?

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

the FRST files, they were originally downloaded into either Recent Documents or Download folder, and then I resaved and renamed them to another folder.

Do I have to do it in the original place?

And just to make sure (I know I sound like a nuisance a little, but I'm not used to this doing this stuff)... the stuff on here... it will be deleted, right? As in, the personal info that I posted on here?

Edit: And I see that the Addition thing has 2 views... Can I see somehow as to who it is that has viewed it?

Thanks, and sorry for the delay.

So I ran the thing, and I have the requested file; Fixlog. The only thing bad thing that I noticed it do was utterly anhialate my browsing history (since I was working with a ton of data, I wish I had somehow made a backup of the stuff that I needed -.-' )

And I will now continue on to utilize the AdwCleaner.

And here is the AdwCleaner stuff:

Two things;
  1. There's three files?... But only one opened up on restart. The S0.
  2. in the [S0] file, some of the stuff it deleted in the files/folders is AVG stuff? And some of the stuff deleted in the Registry (can some one fully explain what the registry does...?) might be important, I think, for my courses... (I'm not sure -.-' )
Edit: Third thing; I can no longer seem to upload the files onto this... ?_? This might be temporary (it seems my Flash plugin is now constantly crashing...)

1. Yes, FRST tool deletes browser history, because there are a lot of bad/malicious links stored. But your bookmarks won't be deleted.
2. S0 report is what I need.
3. Yes, only bad stuff is deleted in this report. 99% of lines are related to malware/adware, AVG stuff is also flagged by this tool, but only its browser component.
4. Don't worry about upload, probably some forum glitch.
5. How is your PC now?

Well, when starting up, the Conduit message is now gone.

However, when trying to read PDF files, it seems a little...glitchy, in that the scrolling isn't smooth anymore. When scrolling, it sort of jumps from one part to another.

Some other portions seem a little slower now too. Only a tad bit, but it is noticeable.

Eh, trying.

Actually, a lot of things are updating themsleves now. Dunno if it's coincidental: AVG, Java, Windows, Skype, etc....

Additionally, yesterday at around 4 pm, this laptop did the startup thing on it's own; I forced it to shutdown (the power turned itself on even when the lid was down, and when I flipped the lid up, there was no screen, despite being on). Windows had been updated at around 11 am the same day. One of it's recommended/important updates failed.

Furthermore, I dunno if this is a software problem, a hardware problem, or just an accessory problem; my perfectly excellent earphones suddenly decided to stop working... normally I would think that it's a problem with the earphones *however*, my mouse also randomly d/ces for a millisecond here and there....

Windows came with this originally....and if I reinstall it, wouldn't I be losing everything?

I will try to find a way to keep this as operational as long as possible, at the most optimum state possible. =(

And what part about it looked bad?

Edit: The one which failed was: KB2952664

Additionally, I would also like to point out that the startup thing has been happening since the first few months or so, as in when it as utterly new. I have read about it online, they say it's updates which occur on it's own? Actually, I think I found a way to disable it a while back -I think I did end up doing it too, but I'm guessing somehow it reverted to it's original position... or something else really did end up happening.

Edit #2: Here's one site which talks about it;
http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-fix-computer-keeps-waking.htm

The thing at the bottom, the command prompt with elevated privileges... how do I do that? -.-

Gimmie another day, I'm sorta swamped right now. (I'm just posting right now, so that the thread doesn't get closed)

29/10/2014 EDIT: Okay, this might take a little bit more time...

Quick question, should I delete the previous logs, before saving and using these ones? (as in the previous, fixlists and results and whatnot)
