Today is the day that Microsoft finally showed off to the World what it has planned for Windows 8. If you avoided all the leaked builds in anticipation for an official release, your wait is almost over.

Microsoft has announced that starting tonight, everyone will be able to download the official developers preview from Microsoft. The download will be live tonight at 8PM PDT and will come in 32bit and 64bit versions. You can also get the build with or without developers tools according to the building Windows 8 blog.

Interesting... I don't think I'll be able to run this though on my laptop.

Sorry to disappoint, but according to a friend (and my own experience with VirtualBox), this won't be able to run on any VM software for now, only standalone PCs.

Downloaded it now and will just be testing it on a standalone PC. Hungry Man where did you get that information? Because I think I would also like to try it in a VM.
