Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has released the non-signature anti-virus Dr.Web Katana Business Edition 1.0, a product that facilitates centralised control over the protection of PCs, shielding them from brand-new threats with which other end-point security software is unfamiliar.

Readers may recall that Dr.Web Katana makes use of proactive technologies that do not require virus databases: an intelligent analysis of the behaviour of running applications determines whether a particular malware program should be neutralised. In addition to using pre-defined rules, the anti-virus can also employ cloud technologies to detect threats.

The new product Dr.Web Katana Business Edition can be deployed on target hosts remotely which allows administrators to configure end-point security on all hosts, without leaving their desks. Anti-virus statistics from all machines can also be collected remotely.

With Dr.Web Katana Business Edition, businesses will withstand attacks by encryption ransomware and other malicious programs that attempt to penetrate systems through loopholes (including zero-day vulnerabilities). It will serve as an impenetrable barrier to targeted attacks and attempts to break into a corporate network.

A Dr.Web KATANA license is included with Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite.

Detailed information about system requirements and product installation can be found in the Release notes.
