A year ago, Dropbox announced a way for business users to have their own accounts for the cloud-based storage service. Today, the company said that people who have both a personal and business Dropbox account can now link them together.

This new feature will allow a user to have just one account on Dropbox that he or she can use for both personal and work efforts. In addition, Dropbox now allows for remote wiping of data in case of emergencies. The company is also working on what it calls "Project Harmony," which will enable real-time collaboration with Office documents stored in Dropbox. More information on that project is scheduled to be revealed Friday.

Dropbox also announced an app called Carousel, which is a new way to store and show off a user's photos and videos. The app is now available for iOS and Android and automatically backs up any new photos or videos taken from a smartphone. Additionally, the app allows for private conversations for each image and video clip, which means users can just see what their friends and family think of those photos.

Finally, Dropbox launched an Android version of its Mailbox app today, along with revealing that the company is running a private beta for an upcoming Mac desktop version. Mailbox also has a new auto-swipe feature. The blog post states, "Starting today, Mailbox uses Dropbox to sync preferences and Auto-swipe patterns across email accounts and devices. That means you get a seamless experience no matter which device or email account you use."
