The development team at EA Sports is announcing that the coming EA Sports UFC 2 is designed to run at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second on both the PlayStation 4 from Sony and on the Xbox One from Microsoft.

The experience will run on the Ignite engine, which the various teams at Electronic Arts have specifically tweaked to offer the best possible mix of quality and performance on both current-generation consoles.

Brian Hayes, the creative director working on EA Sports UFC 2, tells GamingBolt, "The game runs at 1080p, and renders at 30fps with motion blur. We’ve found that going to 60fps doesn’t have a hugely beneficial impact, and people in testing have told us that the game looks better at 30fps with motion blur."

Traditionally, designers working on the PlayStation 4 have sought to hit 60 frames per second for their titles because that's supposed to offer a better experience for gamers.

The fact that on both devices EA Sports UFC 2 will reach 1080p is a good sign, suggesting that, as developers become more accustomed to the tech of the platforms, they can introduce performance boosts.

The development team is not saying whether the game will include an option that allows fans to disable the motion blur.

EA Sports UFC 2 is a complex fighting game that uses a wide variety of animations to simulate the real-world Ultimate Fighting Championship, which requires a very solid engine tech.

Electronic Arts says that Ignite will allow the company to offer great-looking titles on both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 without sacrificing performance.

Gamers will be able to play as Ronda Rousey and Connor McGregor
EA Sports is saying that the sequel is designed to feature ten weight classes and a roster of more than 250 fighters, each of them carefully simulated to capture his specific moves and the way he approaches a variety of different opponents.

The studio is claiming that the entire combat system has been reworked based on how matches progress in the real world.

EA Sports UFC 2 is more strategic than the previous title in the series, allowing players to plan each battle based on the strength of their chosen character and the preferred tactics of the opponent they need to take down.

The studio is trying to make combat on the ground more interesting, with a new grapple system that's differentiated on the abilities of each featured fighter.

A new Career mode is featured in EA Sports UFC 2, allowing gamers to manage the progress of their character over the course of years, with players able to train and prepare for fights.

An Ultimate Team experience is also included in the game, enabling players to assemble their dream team of stars to take on other humans and gain access to extra fighters, more perks and new moves.

EA Sports UFC 2 will be offered on both home consoles at some point during the spring of 2016, and it's unlikely that gamers will get a PC version of the title.
