Due to a wrong software update, owners of a certain type of AEG combi microwave have not been able to use their device for two weeks. Because of the error, the combi microwave thinks it is a steam oven, and that problem cannot be solved remotely.

The affected ovens have been displaying an error message since 3 March

"A mechanic really has to come by with a USB stick," says the Electrolux spokesperson. The company wants to call all affected users no later than March 21 to schedule a free appointment. "We find it very annoying and we want to solve it as quickly as possible."

The company is investigating why a wrong update was sent, and also how to prevent the contact with the Wi-Fi from being broken as a result.
