Hello, I am searching over the web some AV test results for Emsisoft and any of them (AV-TEST, AV-Comparatives, Youtube ...).
Is anybody using Emsisoft as antivirus solution and how are you satisfied, do you have any security problems while using Emsisoft... will you recommend to use Emsisoft?
Thank you

Hello:D

I am happy using emisi for several years. It is silent AV software that makes you forget that it is working. There are very few settings to adjust.
If you're worried and want to adjust various settings, you'll probably be frustrated.

In general it's worth it, but what is your alternative? There are some other products that perform comparably (e.g. Bitdefender TS, Norton, F-Secure, ESET) and some of those products frequently go on sale unlike Emsisoft, leading to more reasonable total cost if money is an issue.

Emsisoft AM is great overall. I would say their most unique feature is the Cloud Console, which allows you to remotely administer and get email alerts from Emsisoft through a web portal -- this is great for keeping an eye on a bunch of systems that you don't personally use (parents/family, VMs, etc). Nothing beats getting an email about a virus detection and then calling up my dad and asking what he's up to. Before I would just come home a year later to find an adware-infested mess because he followed some instructions to disable the AV.

Emsisoft's main weakness I would argue is relying on BitDefender signatures. Looking in the Malware Hub, its static detection rate is pretty much one of the lowest. However, it makes up for this through its industry leading behavior blocker, though sometimes said behavior blocker can be too sensitive and result in false positive alerts.

I would say, from an AV side, Emsisoft is overall strong primarily thanks to the behavior blocker, and is also great for detecting zero-day threats.

For example, if the software is a tank, the EAM has the impression that it has a BB main gun and a BitDefender machine gun. I feel that the relationship between the main gun and the machine gun is reversed with other products.

If malware were people sneaking into your military base (ok this metaphor is about to get politically incorrect...), what you traditionally want is a big fence (signatures / static defenses) and then maybe a drone to detect and clean up anything that gets past (behavior blocker). But it's gonna be inherently messy if they've got that far by the time you dealt with the issue.

Emsisoft has a fence with a lot of holes in it (Bitdefender) but a swarm of really good drones :)

If you have many tanks deployed, the cloud control room may be really useful. However, I am an isolated tank, so the cockpit also serves as the command room.:D

cost should be considered.(My opinion only) 20 dollars for a year would be my maximum for Emsisoft ,you can get great deals for less on Kaspersky total security, or Eset Premium @ E-Bay and Windows defender competes with all for free.

1-You can't compare the needs of a small company with bigger ones, they have bigger user base so much more incomes which allow them to reduce prices unlike smaller companies. Emsisoft can't underprice their products, I saw many small vendors cheap-selling or permanently offering giveaways, most are almost dead, best example: Zemana...
Not saying if you are really tight on your budget, you can still bargain a deal with Emsisoft sales team.
When i was their Community Manager, there was a member here always complainimg about Emsi prices, saying it is too expensive when you want buy several licenses for a big family. I managed to get him a very good deal but guess what? he never followed through...

2- Emsisoft is about quality (no bloat and other crap) and privacy, they don't make money with your datas and before implementing any features, it us heavily discussed for pro and cons. Best example, the decision to ditch any builtin firewall even if it meant to lose some customers.
Tell me another vendor doing it, none, better add half-baked/buggy feature and get more cash...
If I was average joe, I rather pay double for Emsisoft knowing my datas are safe, and I have an almost immediate response from the support in case of issues.

And with Emsisoft, your license won't end in the dark market, no cracks or keygen, they are blacklisted/fixed as soon as discovered, even crackers told me they are annoyed by Emsi...

As I always say, quality has a price.

Because i still consider it a a very good product and brand; believe me, if they weren't i wouldn't sugarcoat my words under some kind of wicked loyalty... in fact more i like something, harder i criticize it if it goes the wrong way.
Just look at Comodo or Webroot, disappointed me; deserve my sledgehammer opinions.

Emsisoft needs to have discount sale. I dont like paying full retail and I am broke.
I don't know with Emsisoft, but for other brands, vendors checking with local re-sellers can many times save one a huge amount.
At one time in Japan, the three-year license was sold at a slightly lower price than the one-year license.

The PC Security Channel on one of his video's he has a link for 20% off if you want a discount on Emsisoft not sure that it works still as it was a while ago but might be worth trying. Not sure if I am allowed to post links here. I know its his affiliate link but might help some of you.

If there is a problem with me doing this then please let me know and I'll take it down.

But to your original question I've bought it again this year because it was between Emsisoft and Eset for me and Emsisoft was cheaper. Although with my browsing habits or computer usage. I feel both are a waste but Windows Defender was causing a performance problem relating to some of my gaming for some reason.
