I thought serial key transmission was encrypted... ???
they sent a GET request to http server at port 80 along with the serial key in URL. that's not encrypted.

in http network sniffer i could clearly see it.

WTF ???

File a complaint on the support forum.

I never noticed as I never paid attention to it...

Update:

I think they don't bother to encrypt it because the serial key is tied to hardware ID... so, in other words, it cannot be used on any other machine - unless you contact Emsisoft and they change it.
