Hello everyone,
We want to invite you to join the public beta test of Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0!
Please keep in mind that we take the word "beta" literally. So this is not some version we know is pretty much done that we throw out to generate a lot of hype. Both Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0 are very much work in progress, which gives every one of you the opportunity to influence the final product. We are sincerely looking for your feedback and your opinions to make the new versions of our products the best they can be. So please, take the time and share your experiences, both good and bad, with us. You can do so either here in the forum, via forum PM, or via email.

Where can I download the public beta?
We provide beta setups for both Emsisoft Anti-Malware as well as Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0 here:
Download Emsisoft Anti-Malware 9.0.0.3824
Download Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0.0.3824
Keep in mind that you will have to uninstall Emsisoft Anti-Malware and in the case of Emsisoft Internet Security, Online Armor must be uninstalled before you are able to install any of the beta versions. We supply the beta version with both signature as well as program updates. The latter are only available via Beta Updates though. So if you want to stay on top of new beta releases during the next couple of weeks we strongly suggest you enable Beta Updates as well. You can do so during the Wizard or later under Settings/Updates.
During the beta test, you can use the trial license indefinitely as we will extend all trials once per week during the test. We will also make sure to reset all trials once the final release is ready to make sure you will still be able to trial Emsisoft Anti-Malware or Emsisoft Internet Security even if you tried the beta version. If you do have an Emsisoft Anti-Malware key already, you can use it for the beta as well.
More pretty pictures!
Since a lot of people will be curious about the new user interface but don't feel comfortable installing a beta version on their system, we decided to provide a few screen shot impressions of the new user interface:

What's new in Emsisoft Anti-Malware & Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0?
- New product: Emsisoft Internet Security
One of the most common requests we got from our users was for a fully integrated security suite. Emsisoft Internet Security is our answer to those requests. It is based on a combination of the existing Emsisoft Anti-Malware code base and a completely new firewall core that we developed almost from scratch. Compared to the firewall core in Online Armor it features full support for IPv6, more fine grained packet filtering rules, better performance, and full Unicode support.
- Completely new user experience
The old user interface has served us well over the years. However, it started to show its age and requests for a new user interface have been increasing for the past year or so. Since we were building a new product with Emsisoft Internet Security we took the opportunity to rethink the user experience as well. The result is a much more friendlier, cleaner, and easier to use experience for all our users. We also took the opportunity to add a lot of smaller user interface features that some users have been asking about but that we never considered due to time constraints. The most popular request of that type is the addition of new statuses in case one or more protection layers are partially disabled.
- Better performance and improved memory usage
Version 9 of Emsisoft Anti-Malware introduces a whole bunch of internal performance and memory usage improvements. We know that performance is important, so we spent a lot of time tracking down various resource leaks and optimizing a lot of the internal components for a vastly improved user experience overall. In addition we made sure that all our components take advantage of various security enhancements introduced in modern Windows versions, like for example, ASLR and DEP.
- Improved scan accuracy and malware cleaning
We made several changes to both our scanning and cleaning engine to improve both malware detection and removal, especially on x64 based systems.
- Improved support for Windows 8 & 8.1
Emsisoft Anti-Malware as well as Emsisoft Internet Security will integrate itself a lot better on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 systems, taking advantage of the new notification systems and improved live tile support for example.
- As well as hundreds of smaller changes and bug fixes ...
Known issues
- Windows 8 toast notifications aren't integrated yet.
- Installation wizard occasionally can't proceed with the online update.
- Translations are pretty messed up due to major changes to the language files. It is strongly recommended that you only use the English translation at the moment. If you want to help us translate Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Emsisoft Internet Security 9.0 to your language, please feel free to send us an email for further details.
- In some cases the button texts don't match the alert type in alert windows. For example a behavior blocker alert may refer to the File Guard and vice versa.
- Help files are still referring to version 8.
- There are a lot of smaller alignment issues in the GUI. We are still figuring out the optimal control placement in a lot of dialogs, so things may look a bit off sometimes.
