The three directories are still reappearing on reboot in Mine\AppData\Local: ErnieBrowserModeList ErnieSiteList ErnieUserList
Mine\AppDate\LocalLow is clear now. The system slowdowns only happen periodically and I have not been on my computer enough to know if this is still a problem.

I have attached a new set of files from the Fabar tool.

I was unable to uninstall Chrome since there was no entry for Chrome or Google Chrome in the Uninstall or Change Program screen.

I manually shift deleted the 3 Ernie directories and the Google directory from AppData\Local and I emptied the recycle bin and shut down.

About 2 minutes after logging in from a cold start, the 3 Ernie directories were recreated ( I watched them appear)
The Google Chrome directories have not reappeared.

I deleted the 3 Ernie directories again and rebooted, they were recreated in less than 2 minutes after logging in.

Attached is the FRST.txt file

Would it help if I installed Chrome to let the program fully activate itself?

No Luck.

I installed Chrome, used the browser, rebooted. After the computer was stable, I used Chrome to browse, uninstalled Chrome, shift deleted the Google and Ernie directories from the AppData directory and rebooted. Less than 2 minutes after logging in, the 3 Ernie directories reappeared. (The recycle bin was empty)

Ran the scan. It requested a reboot. Attached is the log file.

After the reboot, the 3 Ernie directories reappeared.

Sorry for the short response. This is only the second time I have been infected since 1993, and the first time I have had to ask for help.
