ESET fails to detect malware. It happens

It should be noted that when wannacry was out, ESET couldn't protect from the ransomware itself but it could protect from thr delivery method, in other words from the Eternalblue exploit.

Perhaps ESET didn't detect the malware here but maybe it could have detected how it got into the system.

No antivirus can guarantee the end user 100% protection. And these tests NEVER paint the true picture. In a real world scenario you won't execute ransomware by double clicking an exe file but instead from weaponised documents and other sources. ESET has one of the best signatures and web protection. But yes I do agree on one thing here. ESET needs to improve their BB. The test here shows that their BB is utterly rubbish.

Emsisoft have good BB but it also failed to stop FCrypt ransomware.
Kaspersky didn't fail. Moreover if you see the tests here at MT you'll see that EAM BB is performing quite well except for certain cases where the malware makes use of cmd to encrypt files.
But in the tests I've never seen ESET BB in action. For the last 5 years of using ESET I've never seen. a popup from the BB except once. ESET has recently implemented a BB but it has miles of catch-up to do. Other than that ESET is a pretty solid AV.
