As Internet-connected equipment is increasingly used in many industry sectors, alerts like the latest one issued by the FBI to US farmers will likely become a regular occurrence.

“While precision agriculture technology (a.k.a. smart farming) reduces farming costs and increases crop yields, farmers need to be aware of and understand the associated cyber risks to their data and ensure that companies entrusted to manage their data, including digital management tool and application developers and cloud service providers, develop adequate cybersecurity and breach response plans,” the FBI and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) warn.

As usual, the farmers must be aware and informed since these issues are so technical and much on the layman terms. However its already on the government to ensure safety.

Hmmm..

Well, every country has farming subsidies in one form or another. Good lobby and food security. Gold is shiny to the simian brain, electronics are nice and all, but without food, RIP.

What will be interesting is when all/most cars are connected to the internet. I wonder if a great hacker(s) can do a mass infection = mass casualties around the world.

Probably NSA et al will want to weaken the vehicles systems too. That is another way to assassinate people discretely.
