Firefox removing favicons from the address bar

The reason is for security. Some websites with less than honest intent have caught on and set their favicon to a padlock, which can then fool visitors into incorrectly thinking that they are on a secure connection. Not anymore.

I'm sure someone will be able to create an add-on to display the favicons.

Favicons were one to be the good thing as it adds for the better browsing experience and to avoid the confusion by the user when lots of tabs were opened.
