That's not unusual with s/w giveaways and that's how they do it.
Expand their user base, get more inquisitive people familiar with their product and state this only limitation (no support, no upgrades)!
Users may refer others to the product, either renew after the license ends or buy the product at a discounted rate (for enabling upgrades and support) from the same giveaway site - that offers a discount link immediately after the product giveaway period ends. Developers get more feedback and data too ;)
Aye, a sort of promotion of their products.
:)

Exact, they give you a taste of the product then if you like you buy it; this app is quite useful , especially the usb version, i have it and i admit when i use a computer which isn't mine, it help quite a lot. :)

Beware that the USB version is bound to the USB you installed and activated it on.

how to use it? i mean what it does actually?o_O
Hi Sona,

it makes you go "covert"..haha
I must look into this app too, as it looks interesting.
I installed it, now to play around.
It seems to give some sort of "sandbox" environment, in which people can safely surf net.
Here is a description:
COVERT Pro ensures total privacy while working at the computer. It protects against spyware and has an instant messenger with encryption. When working in the secure platform, all your actions in all applications (browsers, email clients, office software, messengers, etc.) are safely hidden. Capturing data from keyboard input and monitor screen is blocked. Using special features of COVERT Pro (Network monitor, Driver monitor, System processes, System services) allows you to detect and remove all hidden applications. It also allows you to block the microphone.

no no , nothing to do with a sandbox, more a virtual secured desktop. it just prevent unwanted apps to "see" what your are doing while under covert mode.
browsing a infected site won't protect your system from malware.
It was designed to prevent keylogger/spywares to read what you are doing.

Aye Umbra. It seems to offer a good, safe environ, in which to work. Similar to my testing and virtual environs set up in virtual networks. Here i have computers i use for testing, before deployment.
I think that it is good that companies make products like this avail for users and companies. Otherwise, most of us would probably never find out about them
