Google's Chrome browser is under attack and its 3.2 billion users worldwide are in danger. Here is everything you need to know to stay safe.

I’m not sure if this is the same issue from March 27. I can’t see any date references in the article. Figured it’s better to be safe than sorry.

I wonder does this affect other Chromium based browsers too, like Edge, Vivaldi, Avast, etc? I have Chrome, Edge and Avast on my laptop. I keep them all updated and got the newest Chrome update last night but I don't use Chrome very often.

The article stated that the warning was issues for CVE-2022-1364.
So that's patched with the latest Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi and Edge.
Not sure about Opera and Avast.
When Edge didn't have the patch ready yet they stated:

Microsoft is aware of the recent exploit existing in the wild. We are actively working on releasing a security fix. Turn on enhanced security mode on to help prevent the exploit (CVE-2022-1364) that exists in the wild. Learn more about enhanced security.
Its enhanced security mode could be a reason to use Edge 🤔

Yeah I have been using that at both work and home. Do you happen to know if any of the protections it provides is based upon hardware at all? I have not had time to take a deep dive into it. Too many other things to work on and investigate lately.

What is the version number?
The latest changelog I could find is for 86.0.4363.17 and that would mean they are three versions and 14 security fixes behind on Google Chrome.
