Yes BD blocked a few exploits on my system as well but it also missed many of them.I tried to run the two and three exploits but Bitdefender closed the app with a warning "it is a exploit".
Seems like this file was released in 2014.Not sure when the last version was released and if it's outdated, but it might be useful for some testing for some of you.
Thats the copyright. After doing some research I think that the last version was released in 2017 according to Softpedia: Download Exploit Test Tool 18.104.22.168
Its most likely 2017 then this pdf shows version 1.6 was released in 2015 under revision history and the first release was 2014.
Hope they update it one day again. Such a tool can be really useful...Its most likely 2017 then this pdf shows version 1.6 was released in 2015 under revision history.
Mark Loman is still working on it, his brother isn't unfortunately. Are the Loman brothers still working?
Sophos paid nearly 25 million euro for their company, so they might live in the (former) Dutch Caribbean's islands right now, having a pool party whole year round
Well there is no confirmation that the tool did work correctly and maybe Kaspersky silently blocked the actions. I think we’ll never know.Should a Kaspersky user be worried if almost all of these loaded the calculator without any warnings? The test tool is classified as Trusted in the KSN cloud service but I thought it would still be checked for exploit like behaviour?
Oh! I wrongly thought if calculator opened it meant the exploit or at least method was shown to have succeeded. For all but 2 or 3 of the buttons calculator opened for meWell there is no confirmation that the tool did work correctly and maybe Kaspersky silently blocked the actions. I think we’ll never know.
Phew, thanks @harlan4096 Goes to show the importance of being extra sure of myself if manually assigning trust level to an unknown appThat testing tool never worked in Kaspersky since it is classified as Trusted, it can do any operation without any restriction in the system... You can try to move it to Low or High Restriction and check, but still probably won't work properly...
